How to choose threads and crochet a simple napkin for beginners: a diagram with a description

Experienced craftswomen for work choose yarn thin, like a spider web. Dexterously wielding a crochet, they knit napkins of extraordinary beauty, more like lace. However, those who are just learning to knit should not start with thin threads.

  • So that the thread does not get confused, they choose yarn of medium thickness. Semi-wool and acrylic perfect for first jobs.
  • Thread color choose depending on the interior in which the finished napkin will be used.
  • Hook size usually corresponds to the thickness of the thread. But if you need the knitting to look tight, they take a thinner hook if they want to get the product large knit- choose a thick hook. For a start, it is better to take a hook number 1.5. If it turns out to be inconvenient for them to work, it can always be replaced with a thicker or thinner one.
  • For the first napkin, choose one of the most simple schemes - it's better to finish simple work than to quit difficult.

IMPORTANT: If you need to knit a thin openwork napkin, use bobbin cotton threads and hook No. 0.5 - 1. For napkins of medium thickness you need Iris-type threads and hook No. 1.5.

Crochet simple napkin lesson:

Prepare your crochet and thread, study the knitting pattern.

Since the napkin is round, start knitting from the center. Tie a 12-stitch chain.

Tie the ring according to the diagram.

Connect the last loop to the loop of the air chain, thus completing the circle.

Go to second row... Work 3 stitches, 4 stitches with 2 crochets into the stitches of the previous row.

Repeat the pattern.

Do not connect the last loop of the row with the first, if you connect them, the pattern will be broken.

In the third row, according to the scheme, alternate 4 air loops with 6 double crochets. Knit 4 middle stitches so that the hook goes into the base of the stitches from the knitted row, knit the first and last so that the hook goes under the chain of air loops of the knitted row.

Complete the 3rd row, like the previous one, proceed to knitting the 4th row.

In the fourth row alternate 5 stitches with 8 stitches + 2 yarns.

Fifth- alternate 9 stitches with 10 stitches + 2 yarns.

In the sixth- alternate 11 stitches with 4 stitches + 2 yarns, 11 stitches, skip 2 stitches of the previous row, 4 stitches + 2 yarns. At the end of the row, connect the last loop to the first.

Openwork napkins look great on both serving and coffee tables. They can be placed under candy bowls, cups, plates or fruit bowls.

To make the napkins look light and delicate, take thin cotton threads and a thin crochet hook (0.5-1.2).

IMPORTANT: It is advisable for experienced needlewomen to use bobbin threads, and beginner craftswomen need to take into account that working with them is very difficult and time-consuming.

Description:

Knitting the middle part:

  • Cast on 10 air loops, connect in a ring.
  • 1 row: Tie 3 stitches (this will be the rise), 21 stitches + 2 yarns.
  • 2 row: Work 6 stitches, 1 stitch + 1 yarn over in 2 stitches of the previous row, 3 stitches.

  • 8 row: Start in the middle of the arch. Tie 3 air, 4 stitches + 1 yarn, 3 air stitches, 1 stitch + 1 yarn in the next arch. Next: 3 air, 9 columns + 1 yarn. At the end, you should get 4 columns + 1 yarn.
  • WITH 9 to 16 rows: the pattern is similar to row 8, but carefully monitor the change in the number of columns in each row.
  • 17 row: Pull the thread to the last column with the connecting ones. Knit 3 stitches, 4 stitches + 1 yarn, 10 stitches, 5 stitches + 1 yarn, 10 stitches.

  • 3rd row: 3 stitches, 7 stitches + 1 yarn over, 2 stitches, 8 stitches + 1 yarn over, 2 stitches.
  • 4th row: completely repeats the 3rd row, however, if knitting begins to "pull", you can add air loops yourself (it will be enough to add 1 loop each).
  • 5 row: 3 stitches, 7 stitches +1 yarn, 10 stitches, 8 stitches + 1 yarn, 10 stitches.

  • Then continue working according to the scheme of the main motive, finishing the rows with connecting posts.
  • Connect ready-made elements among themselves, starch ready product and leave to dry.

Fillet knitting or fillet knitting(fillet lace) is the creation of a mesh, some cells of which are empty and some are filled. The drawing is created in a certain way, depending on how the grid cells are filled.

Fillet knitting is very simple and the patterns are easy to read and resemble cross stitch patterns. Elements of loin knitting patterns, as well as patterns for cross stitching, are black and white squares, circles and crosses. Moreover, an empty cell in the diagram is always indicated by a white cell, and a filled cell can be indicated by a black cell, a cross, or a circle.

IMPORTANT: Before you start knitting a sirloin napkin according to the selected pattern, knit a small sample of 10 by 10 cells, by which you can evaluate the type and density of future work.

Knitting the cells is done as follows:

  • Empty - С1Н, 2ВП
  • Filled - 3С1Н.

Any sirloin knitting begins with a chain of VP.

Calculation of loops for a set:

For 1 cell - 3VP chains + 6 loops to form 1 cell of 1 row. In order not to carry out the calculation, you can knit a chain of arbitrary length, start knitting the cells from its beginning. Then the extra loops of the chain can be dissolved, and the missing ones can be tied.

Video: Fillet mesh. Adding and subtracting cells. Crochet.

IMPORTANT: The place from which work begins (starting point) is marked with an arrow on the diagrams.

Sometimes work on a sirloin napkin starts at the bottom or top. Often the work starts from the center, and moves up and down from it. When knitting volumetric sirloin product, you can knit individual parts and elements, and then knit together.

IMPORTANT: To make the napkin tied with sirloin knit neat and dense, you must not allow "looseness" and stretching of the loops, otherwise the work will be uneven, and the pattern will be blurry.

Knowing the decoding of the circuit (empty - С1Н, 2ВП; filled - 3С1Н), you can immediately start working.

How to crochet a volumetric napkin: description, diagram

Elegant lightweight volumetric two-tone napkins not only look spectacular, but also very easy to knit. The "trick" of such napkins is precisely their two-color nature. Similar plain napkins can "get lost" in the interior, and certainly will not attract so much attention.

For work you will need thin cotton yarn and hook number 1.

The "base" of the napkin is knitted in a light pattern with columns with 1 crochet and VP between them.

It makes no sense to describe this process in detail.

But knitting butterflies is very similar to knitting flowers.

This scheme will have to be changed a little, otherwise the butterflies will turn out to be very large. Therefore, future butterflies will be knitted with columns with 1 crochet.

  • Make a ring from 6VP.
  • 1 row: 8 groups of 3С1Н and 3ВП between them.
  • 2 row: Turn knitting and knit: in the arches of the last row 2 times 5С1Н and 5ВП between them.
  • 3 row: 1СБН between two groups of columns of the previous row.
  • Tie the arches: 7С1Н, 2ВП, 7С1Н.
  • 4 row: Sc.

As a result of the work, you will get a flower with uneven, twisted petals. But by bending it in half, you get a beautiful volumetric butterfly in flight.

Place the butterflies on a napkin, securing with a thread and a needle, and enjoy the beauty and tenderness of your own creation.

This crocheted Christmas napkin is very popular among avid knitters. In what variations it is not performed! Such a cute festive decor will gladly decorate your home every year at a time when it is snowing and frosty outside the window.

The napkin consists of 12 trees. If you take a closer look at the pattern of the New Year's napkin, you will see that 9 dots are applied to each Christmas tree. These are beads. As conceived by the author of the diagram, before starting work, you need to string 108 beads on a thread, and then, in the places indicated on the diagram, move the bead to the hook and knit a double crochet in such a way that front side there is a bead - a stylized Christmas ball. I knitted without beads so that a vase or plate could be put on a napkin.

The diameter of the finished napkin, taking into account the selected yarn and hook, is 40 cm.

To crochet a New Year's napkin, I needed:

hook No. 1.3 mm;

Etamin YarnArt acrylic yarn (180 m by 30 g);

tailor's pins with wire ears (not beads at the ends!);

gauze or thin chintz for steaming;

beads - optional.

Crochet Christmas napkin: a diagram with a description

Scheme for a napkin

Many needlewomen have a lot of complaints about the scheme; they say, it falls in a wave, and that's it. Many even corrected the scheme so that there were 11 trees, not 12. But I do not agree to a napkin of 11 trees: 12 months, New Year comes also at 12 ... No, the number of trees should be just that!

I started knitting this napkin three years ago, but I gave it up because of that very wave. This year I pulled myself together and knitted it strictly according to the scheme. The finished napkin is moistened, steamed and ... a beautiful, even napkin is ready!

Finish the row with three air loops and a blind loop in the third loop of the beginning of the same row. Fasten the thread, cut, hide the tip.

Christmas trees

Each tree is knitted separately. We knit the first completely independent; during the knitting of the second and each subsequent tree, we attach it with the tip of each "branch" to the corresponding branch of the neighboring tree (indicated by arrows in the diagram). The last tree is knitted by attaching each branch to the corresponding branches of the surrounding trees. At the end of knitting of each tree (perhaps, except for the last one) we cut the thread, and new tree starting with a new thread.

Here I am describing knitting each row of one tree; all the rest are knitted in the same way, except that it will be necessary to fasten the Christmas trees together during knitting.

Please note: if the core of the napkin and the harness are knitted in a circle, then the Christmas trees - in rows back and forth.

8 row. We apply a thread to the first arch of the previous row and knit three air lifting loops, then two double crochets around the same arch. Expand knitting.

9 row. Three air lifting loops, two double crochets in the same loop of the previous row; double crochet; three double crochets in the last loop of the previous row. Expand knitting.

10 row. Three lifting air loops; two double crochet in the same loop; 5 double crochets (if you are knitting with beads, then there should be a bead in the third column); 3 double crochets in the last loop of the previous row. Expand knitting.

11 row. Three air lifting loops; two double crochet in the same loop; 9 double crochets, three double crochets in the last loop of the previous row. Expand knitting.

12 row. 6 blind loops; 3 vp, 2 double crochets in the same loop as the last blind loop; 3 tbsp. with a crochet, 3 tbsp. with a crochet in one loop. Expand knitting.

13 row. 3 vp and 2 double crochets in the same loop of the previous row; 7 tbsp. with a crochet (if you knit with beads, then in the 1st and 7th columns there should be a bead each); 3 tbsp. with a crochet in the last loop of the previous row. Expand knitting.

Row 14. 3 vp lifting, 2 tbsp. with a crochet in the same loop of the previous row, 11 tbsp. with a crochet, 3 tbsp. with a crochet in the last column of the previous row. Expand knitting.

15 row. 3 vp lifting, 2 tbsp. with a crochet in the same loop of the previous row; 15 Art. with a crochet; 3 tbsp. with a crochet in the last column of the previous row. Expand knitting. We knit six blind loops.

16 row. 3 vp, 2 st. with a crochet in the same loop of the previous row (note, we start knitting from the same loop in which the last blind loop is knitted). 9 tbsp. with a crochet (if you knit with beads - the bead will be in the 7th column), 3 tbsp. with a crochet in the last column of the previous row. Expand knitting.

17 row. 3 vp, 2 st. with a crochet in the same loop of the previous row, 13 tbsp. with a crochet, 3 tbsp. with a crochet in the last column of the previous row. Expand knitting.

Row 18. 3 vp, 2 st. with a crochet in the same loop of the previous row, 17 tbsp. with a crochet (for those who knit with beads: the beads will be in the third and 17th column), 3 tbsp. with a crochet in the last loop of the previous row. Expand knitting.

19 row. 3 vp, 2 st. with a crochet in the same loop of the previous row, 21 tbsp. with a crochet, 3 tbsp. with a crochet in the last column of the previous row. Expand knitting. We make 7 blind loops. We start knitting the 20th row from the column in which the last blind loop has already been knitted.

20 row. 3 vp, 2 st. with a crochet in the same loop of the previous row, 13 tbsp. with a crochet (who knits with beads: one bead in the 7th column), 3 tbsp. with a crochet in the last column of the previous row. Expand knitting.

21 row. 3 vp, 2 st. with a crochet in the same loop of the previous row, 17 tbsp. with a crochet, 3 tbsp. with a crochet in the last column of the previous row, we unfold the knitting.

Strapping

We look at the core of the napkin and determine where her face is, and where is the wrong side. We knit along the front - now the rows will be circular again.

Row 25. We begin to knit from the middle of the "trunk" of any tree. We do 3 vp. lifting, double crochet in the same loop of the previous row; Vp 3, single crochet in the last loop of the trunk; knit 7 vp and we count 6 columns after the trunk - in the sixth we insert a hook and knit a double crochet. Further - 7 vp, * 2 tbsp. with a crochet at the junction of the lower branches of the Christmas trees, 7 VP, a column with a crochet in the eighth blind loop of the lower branch of a Christmas tree, 7 VP, a single crochet in the first column of the trunk; 3 vp, 2 columns with a crochet in the central column of the trunk, 3 vp, a single crochet in the last column of the trunk; VP 7, double crochet in the sixth column after the trunk of the lower branch of the Christmas tree, VP 7 * - repeat from * to * to the end of the row. Further - 2 tbsp. with a crochet in the last place of the junction of two trees, VP 7, a double crochet in the eighth blind loop of the lower branch of a Christmas tree, 7 VP, a single crochet in the first column of the trunk, 3 VP, a blind loop in the third vp the beginning of this series.

Completion of this row: 7 vp, 2 tbsp. with a crochet around the arch, 7 vp; 3 tbsp. with a yarn around the arch, 3 VP and 3 tbsp. with a yarn around the same arch; 7 vp, 2 st. with a crochet around the arch, 7 vp, 2 tbsp. with a crochet, a blind loop in the third loop of the beginning of this row. One blind loop to go to the top of the arch.

Row 28. 3 vp lifting, 2 tbsp. with a crochet around the arch, picot (3 vp, connecting column to the first loop), 3 tbsp. with a yarn around the same arch; * 7 vp, 2 columns with 2 crochets, knitted together (between them you can still knit a lower picot, but I considered it superfluous) - pay attention to the bases of the columns that rest on different arches; 7 vp, 3 tbsp. with a crochet around the arch, picot, 3 tbsp. with a yarn around the same arch * - repeat from * to * to the end of the row. End the row with a blind loop.

We fill in and cut all the threads.

Steaming a New Year's napkin

Perhaps, like me, the napkin went in a wave. What is needed in order to give it a complete look and straighten it.

On the ironing board or something similar (with a soft backing, into which you can stick tailor's pins and iron it with an iron on top) - I have a computer chair with a spacious seat, covered with thin calico - lay out a moistened napkin. There are two ways to moisten it: wrap it in a wet towel and leave it that way for a few minutes, or spray it with a spray bottle, roll it up and again leave it for a few minutes.

Place the damp napkin on the ironing surface with the wrong side up. Why seamy side? So that the iron does not break the crochet relief. Excessive smoothness will definitely not hurt the inside out, especially since it is not intended for prying eyes.

We pin one picot with a needle so that the tip of the needle looks towards the center of the napkin, i.e. pins are inserted not perpendicular to the surface, but at an angle of 30-45 degrees. Then we grab the picot on the opposite side of the napkin, pull it (to the maximum, but carefully) - and in the same way fix it with a second pin.

We divide each of the resulting halves visually in half and fix it with pins in the same way until there are no pins along all the extreme picots, and the napkin magically stretches and straightens.

We cover it thin cloth(although this is not necessary at all, but at least this way you do not burn the yarn) and iron it with steam from the center to the edges. Examine the napkin - and if everything suits you, leave it in such a crucified state until it completely cools down, but also dries.

Eva Casio specially for the site

New Year is coming, it's time to decorate your home! This wonderful napkin will perfectly complement the festive interior and will cheer you up.

Crocheting a New Year's napkin is quite simple. The main thing is to choose a suitable scheme. Crochet Christmas napkin patterns, accompanied by a detailed description of the work, can be found in abundance on the Internet and in specialized literature. The main thing is to carefully study the scheme. and a description before starting work, and then crocheting a New Year's napkin, a snowflake or a Christmas tree dedicated to the New Year's theme will not be difficult. The motive for the New Year napkin can be the patron animal of the year eastern calendar, for example, in 2019, fillet napkins with the image of a pig were often knitted as a gift.

Christmas handkerchiefs with the image of a snowflake, a Christmas tree, Santa Claus can be knitted as a gift to relatives or friends. And you can knit New Year's canvases for the exhibition. Beautiful Christmas trees, a Christmas star, snowflakes, a sleigh with deer crocheted in a simple pattern will create in the house festive atmosphere. Besides the napkins, crochet , can be made original jewelry from paper using the silhouette cutting technique with the same theme: snowflakes, Christmas trees, candles, Christmas decorations... Schemes for paper silhouette handkerchiefs with a description of the technique openwork cutting are also presented on the Internet.

To crochet a napkin with a picture of a snowflake or shreds according to a ready-made pattern, you need to prepare everything you need for work. If the scheme beautiful snowflakes will be at hand all the time, the novice craftswoman will easily and quickly knit a napkin. To independently crochet a craft with a New Year's pattern, you will need:

How to get started

Preparing everything you need, you can get to work. In order for a snowflake or Christmas tree to turn out to be even, beautiful, symmetrical, you must carefully follow the scheme. If something is unclear in the diagram, it is better to initially choose a simpler option. The easiest way to crochet the simplest snowflake consisting of six to eight straight rays diverging in different directions. But, experienced craftswomen can create with the help of a crochet snowflakes of the most intricate shape.

You need to be very careful while knitting. to all symbols shown in the diagram. Those who do not like to knit a snowflake can choose another simplest option New Year's napkin - a Christmas tree. The herringbone can be knitted from green yarn. The finished Christmas tree can be decorated with embroidery handmade... You can embroider candles, beads or fancy balls. Such a tree will become great gift for New Year or Christmas.

And if you attach a piece of paper to the Christmas tree napkin new year wishes, it will make a very non-standard postcard. In general, a New Year's napkin is a truly universal thing. You can make anything from it: a postcard, decoration for festive table, and from several identical napkins (for example, snowflakes) of a small size, you can make a real festive garland. To do this, they need to be connected together. using decorative clips and hang an impromptu garland of snowflakes right above the festive table.

And you can also decorate with such crafts christmas tree, which stands on the street (for example, in the country). This is why New Year's napkins are such a popular piece. festive decor: you can make anything out of them. The main thing is that the napkins themselves are tied beautifully and evenly, in full accordance with the scheme and description of the work. A beautifully crocheted Christmas-themed napkin will certainly fill the house with New Year's and Christmas mood, and then the whole year will remind of these wonderful holidays, especially in the hot summer, when you really want to have at least small piece winter.

Variants of drawing and schemes

Before tying a snowflake napkin or Christmas trees, you need to decide on the scheme. Each needlewoman has her own signature way of knitting. elegant snowflakes... To knit a napkin dedicated to the New Year's theme, it is advisable to consider as much as possible different options... Of these, you need to choose the scheme according to which it will be easiest to link it. The most popular are the following subjects for drawing on New Year's napkins:

Experienced craftswomen can easily crochet a whole picture dedicated to the New Year or Christmas theme. But, it will be easier for beginner knitters just start with ordinary hexagonal snowflakes. Another simple option is the traditional Christmas tree. Everything else is better to master later, when snowflakes and Christmas trees will already be considered a "passed stage."

However, even if a beginner knitter knows how to knit only the simplest napkin in the shape of a snowflake, it can create a real handmade masterpiece - a tablecloth consisting of individual elements. To do this, you need to crochet many identical snowflakes, and then tie them together with a needle and thread. The result is a very original New Year's tablecloth. It is advisable to take snowflake napkins of two bright contrasting colors (for example, red and white, blue and white) for the manufacture of such a tablecloth and alternate elements of two colors in a checkerboard pattern.

The main advantage of such a tablecloth is that it looks very impressive and elegant, creating a festive atmosphere in the house. However, there is also a drawback: for manufacturing such a tablecloth will take a lot of time, and a beginner knitter may get a little tired of knitting monotonous snowflakes. Another disadvantage is that if one of the elements of the tablecloth is somehow different from the others (for example, one snowflake is slightly larger than the others or a little uneven compared to others), it is striking.

To crochet an original New Year's napkin, a novice craftswoman must first of all learn to read crochet patterns and clearly learn the basic legend used in these patterns (for example, "single crochet", "double crochet", "half-crochet", "air loop"). Not knowing these designations, it will not be possible to understand the scheme.

For knitting New Year's napkins, it is recommended to use thin synthetic yarn. However, it should not be too thin, because too thin yarn will tear and become tangled. When the napkin is completely ready to hold its shape well, it can be starchy.

Ready-made napkins can be hung on the walls as a decoration along with paper snowflakes. This decor will look very nice and stylish. However, it is not recommended to hang a lot on the walls. knitted snowflakes because they are excellent dust collectors.

Do-it-yourself New Year's craft with the help of a crochet can be presented to family and friends. You can give a napkin as an independent gift, or you can make it so that the napkin, like a postcard, is attached to some more serious gift.

For knitting Christmas snowflakes yarn of any, even the brightest colors is perfect. But most often New Year's snowflakes are blue, light blue, white, gray, less often purple, lilac. Fir-trees are usually light green and dark green, depending on the preferences of the novice craftswoman. The traditional colors of Christmas and New Year in Europe are red and white. Yarn in these colors can also be used to make party napkins.
