Creative activities with children are diversified by working with natural materials. They are used to create three-dimensional toys, animal figurines, appliqués and other crafts. An important stage of the lesson is not only the creation of crafts, but also the collection and processing of materials, preparing them for use.

Joint trips to the park or nature will help children learn better the world around us. Parents can show different types of plants, their berries, fruits and seeds, and also instill in children a love of nature. For example, collecting bark should not harm the tree; it should only be done on trees that have already been damaged or cut down. Natural material is safe, accessible and provides ample opportunities to show imagination.

What can be made from natural materials?

From various natural materials you can create toys, images of animals and people. Diverse in shape, color and texture, they combine perfectly with each other and complement each other. From all the toys made, you can assemble a whole composition or exhibition of characters.

Furniture, vehicles, houses and other items for toys can also be created from natural materials, sawn branches, and tree bark. The main joining methods are PVA glue or other glue, as well as wire, threads, ropes, sharpened matches or toothpicks. When working with natural materials, you may need the following tools: scissors, brush, needle and thread, awl, saw, file, knife and others.

When and what should be prepared?

All natural materials can be divided into those that need to be harvested in the summer, and those that are available when the fruits ripen in the fall. In summer and spring, natural materials such as flowers, leaves, grass, cattails, corn, birch bark, and others are available. In autumn, nuts, chestnuts, acorns, seeds of many plants, straw, decorative pumpkins, and other materials are collected. Some materials, such as moss, pine cones, pine needles and shells, are available at any time of the year.

Flowers and leaves of plants are aligned between sheets of paper and dried; they can be used to make an applique or a bouquet of dried flowers. Dense leaves make wings for butterflies and dragonflies or fins for fish. Autumn leaves have warm colors and are considered especially beautiful. Greens summer leaves As it dries, it loses its richness green. The variety of leaf shapes and colors makes them interesting material for creativity. The collected leaves are ironed through paper and dried under pressure. They are also stored between cardboard or paper sheets.

In the summer, you can make crafts from tufts of grass or use it to tie together parts of a craft. Green ears, grass stems or tufts of grass quickly wither and become brittle after drying. Crafts made from such short-lived materials quickly deteriorate, but they can also be used to develop a child.

Natural materials for crafts

1. Rogoz

Rogoz- a summer plant growing in water in the shallow waters of rivers, lakes, ponds and other bodies of water. Its elongated brown inflorescences consist of soft fluff, easy to model. You can use these inflorescences, which are popularly called “reeds,” to create animal figures. Cattail leaves and stems can be dried, cut, rolled, and used for a variety of craft parts.

2. Corn

Corn- a special summer crop in which peeled fresh or dry cobs, long leaves and hardened grains can be used for crafts. The older and harder the corn cobs, the more difficult it is for a child to work with them, because they need to be cut or pierced. Classes with children are carried out when the corn is not fully ripe and is easily affected. Long and soft leaves of corn allow you to diversify crafts; they can be folded, rolled, tied into a knot, and so on. Before work, the dried leaves are soaked for a couple of hours in a wet cloth.

3. Birch bark

Known since ancient times material for folk art - birch bark, or birch bark. It is unusual, beautiful, durable. Birch bark collected in spring and autumn is the most beautiful and flexible, it is easier to remove from the trunk. To properly remove bark from wood, it is cut along the circumference, separating a piece up to 25 cm wide. The bark is cleaned and the inside is wiped damp cloth, external - cleaned with sandpaper. To keep the bark smooth, it is dried by pressing it down with a weighted board. If a rolled birch bark sheet is needed, then it is soaked and dried in the sun or in a warm place.

4. Berries and fruits

From fresh summer berries and fruits you can create figures and other crafts, such as beads. As the berries dry out, they harden and shrivel or spoil. From the fruits of rose hips and rowan are obtained bright decorations and characters.

5. Straw

At the end of summer after the harvest of cereals, among natural materials appears straw. You can use it to knit three-dimensional toys, weave flat surfaces, and stick on a smooth pattern. Children like the golden color of ironed straw and enjoy working with this flexible material. Collect straw, keeping the stems straight. The junctions of the stems are cut out, straight straws are sorted by length and stored in boxes. To make the straw elastic, it is soaked for a day in a closed container, pouring boiling water over it. For appliques, smooth straw is needed, and it is ironed.

6. Dried water lily fruits

Used as a natural material dried water lily fruits, resembling a small vessel with a narrowed neck. Their interesting shape is suitable for creating toy body parts and for toy dishes.

7. Fruits of decorative pumpkin

Dried bright fruits are also considered an interesting natural material. decorative pumpkin fruits. Its varied shapes and color shades provide freedom for children's imagination.

8. Nuts, acorns and chestnuts

Ripen in autumn walnuts, hazelnuts, pine and other nuts, and also acorns and chestnuts. Their shape, brown color, surface texture, hardness and other qualities make it possible to create various body parts voluminous toys, animals and characters. A hat or pile of hazelnuts can also be used in crafts. Walnuts can be used whole or split into halves. Pine nuts and groundnuts are easy to pierce and stick together. All types of nuts should be stored in different boxes in a dry place. Hard nuts should be cut and pierced by the teacher himself. A child may get hurt trying to pierce a hard, round object.

Acorns, the fruits of the oak tree, are harvested in the fall when they are ripe and begin to fall. They can be selected in different sizes for various crafts. Acorns can be obtained different forms, more rounded or elongated, they can grow in double or triple formations. The calyxes of these fruits, or pluses, are also hardened, separated from the acorns and used in the manufacture of toys. If the acorns themselves can be part of the body of animals or people, then their cups can be used as dishes or headdresses for toys. Acorns should be selected whole, strong, without damage, rot or rotten spots. They can be stored for a long time in a cool, damp place.

Fruits of the tree chestnut brown, round and smooth. By connecting them with wires or matches, you get simple toys: bears, bunnies, mice and other animals. Their prickly skin can be used to create hedgehogs. Chestnuts can be collected different sizes, they are round and semicircular, half-shaped. They keep for a long time in a cool place.

9. Plant and tree seeds

Seeds of many plants and trees widely used in the manufacture of crafts from natural materials. As a rule, the seeds ripen in the fall. In crafts you can use the seeds of ash, acacia, pumpkin, watermelon, sunflower, and many others. They can be glued with glue, stitched or pierced with a needle, toothpick or wire. They make body parts, eyes and noses of animals.

10. Tree cones and needles

Common materials are bumps coniferous trees: cedars, pines, spruces, cypresses and fir. Cones can be used either opened or unopened. If the cones are collected from damp soil, they dry out more slowly and retain their shape. If they dry quickly in heat, they can open up and become deformed. Cones can be pierced, tied and glued. They can be part of bulk toys. You can sort them by shape and size, like other materials, and store them in separate boxes.

Among the natural materials that can be obtained in spring, summer, autumn, and sometimes even winter, one can name the needles of the trees themselves. Long needles can be used as butterfly antennae, hedgehog spines, insect legs, and in other ways. They can be tied into a bundle or injected individually. You can store pine needles in matchboxes.

11. Moss

In the warm season you can collect moss, which is used to create a background and imitate grass in toy compositions. Moss can be stored for a long time and can be easily glued to a flat base.

12. Dried tree mushroom

An interesting natural material can be cut and dried hard tree mushroom. You can use it to make a stand or a roof for a house.

13. Tree bark

A similar solid material serving as “ building material» in creating entire puppet compositions, there can be a solid tree bark. It can be coated with transparent varnish, which will extend the “life” of the composition. The bark of different trees differs in color and shape. In addition to the specified birch bark, which is a thin and flexible material white, you can use the bark of pine, oak and other trees. It can be hard and dense, or it can be soft and flexible, embossed, dark brown or gray.

14. Tree branches

Branches are a durable natural material. From thin branches you can create arms, legs or necks of dolls, benches for toys, overlapping houses, gazebos and so on. Thicker branches when cut can imitate a stump for fairy tale characters. From branched branches you can create a toy garden or forest. It is better to use branches for crafts that are not overdried and undamaged. The branches of plants such as pine, lilac and dogwood do not break when dry, they are elastic, and are convenient to use when creating figures. When collecting branches for crafts with a group of children, the teacher should teach not to damage trees and collect fallen material.

15. Roots of trees and shrubs

Very interesting material are roots of trees or shrubs, however, obtaining them is quite difficult. The roots can be found along river banks, where they are washed away by water. It is important to remind children that the roots of living trees should not be damaged or cut off. The roots have a curly, unique shape. Often in their form you can see a character, a fantastic creature or an insect. Peeled and varnished roots can be decorated with other materials. The collected roots must be washed, dried and stored under normal conditions, in a dry room, protected from excessive moisture. Activities with this natural material develop the child’s imagination, creative thinking and observation skills.

16. Bird feathers

A diverse, pliable and bright material can be called bird feathers. You can use feathers from poultry: ducks, chickens, geese and others. Feathers of wild birds can be found simply on the street and on a hike. If children have pet parrots, then their bright multi-colored feathers will decorate the craft. Collected feathers must be washed and dried. To return them to their original natural shape, just comb them with a brush or smooth them with your fingers. Bird feathers can be cut, stitched, glued, or inserted into holes in harder natural materials. When working with feathers, you can teach children about various types birds, how they fly with feathers, and so on.

17. Shells and stones

One of the most common and favorite materials among children is shells. They can be found on river banks, and especially on the seashore. They can be of various shapes, from flat oval, heart-shaped or scallop-shaped, to a three-dimensional shape in the form of a twisted horn. The sizes of shells can also be completely different. Shells can be pierced, drilled, filed and glued. From them you can collect figures of characters, create flat drawings and images of flowers, or you can paste them over entire surfaces of boxes or paintings.

The collected shells must be thoroughly washed with a brush and dried. When collecting shells, you can choose another natural material - ground with water natural stones . They can be glued with rubber and construction glue, used to create parts of furniture, lay out paths or build houses for toys.

Working with natural materials significantly develops children's creative imagination and also introduces them to the world of living nature.

Children's crafts made from natural materials: 25 ideas and step-by-step master classes for children of preschool and primary school age.

Children's crafts made from natural materials

In this article you will find more than 25 ideas for making crafts with children from natural materials (leaves, branches, seeds, chestnuts, acorns, vegetables and others) in different techniques. All master classes in this article were prepared for you by readers of “Native Path”, participants of the competition.

Craft 1: Maple Leaf Roses

This craft was sent to our competition by Anna Baranova and her daughter Lera and Lera’s teacher from kindergarten MBDOU No. 3 “Ryabinka” ( junior group) Inza, Ulyanovsk region. And also Khabibullina Liliya Rustemovna (MADOU " Kindergarten No. 174 of the combined type" of the Moskovsky district of Kazan) and Davletberdin Malik (5 years old).

Material for making:
- maple leaves of bright colors (orange, yellow, red),
- twigs with viburnum berries,
- raw threads for forming a bouquet of roses,
- golden hairspray to strengthen and strengthen the bouquet (optional),
- several strong branches to strengthen the bouquet of roses.

How to make a bouquet of roses from maple leaves:

Preparing to make crafts: We collect suitable leaves of various colors. We need fairly large, not too dry and whole leaves. Leaves that are too small, dry, diseased, or torn are not suitable for making a bouquet. To make one flower, it is better to choose leaves of the same color.

Step 1. Take one glue new leaf, hold it with the stem facing you and fold it in half with the front side facing out. Next, we roll it into a tight roll - a tube. This will be the “core of the rose,” that is, the middle of the flower.

Step 2. Now we begin to lay the “petals” around this “core” of the flower. We take another maple leaf, hold it the same way - with the petiole facing us - and place a prepared tube-like core on it, closer to the petiole, in the middle of the leaf. Face the leaf should be inside the future flower. We very carefully bend the sheet in half outward. The edge of the inflection of the “petal” is located above the “core” by a centimeter and a half. Smooth out the fold of the sheet.

And now we bend this protruding edge of the sheet outward again, but do not smooth out the fold. We try not to compress the fold and keep it elastic.

Step 3. Take the next maple leaf and make a second petal on the other side of our center - the tube. We continue further until we get a rose flower. Each time you need to take a maple leaf a little larger than the previous one.

Step 4. Having decorated the flower, you need to wrap the base tightly with threads. A strong thin twig can be tightly tied to the base to give the flower strength.

Step 5. Having collected a bouquet of several roses and decorated it with viburnum branches, you need to tightly wrap all the branches with thread again, collecting them into a bouquet.

How many flowers there will be in your bouquet is up to you. We evenly arrange the prepared leaves in a circle, placing them under the buds in the hand. Then we fix the now finished bouquet at its base with the same threads.

Here is our autumn bouquet of roses from maple leaves and it’s ready!

Step 6. To add strength, beauty and shine, you can spray the finished roses with golden hairspray. But this is not necessary.

Another option for decorating such a bouquet of maple leaves was made by the family of Margarita Kasanova (5 years old), Kazan, MADOU “Kindergarten No. 174 of a combined type”, Moskovsky district of Kazan. Teacher - Kalmykova Olga Dmitrievna

Craft 2: corn

This craft was sent to our “Autumn Workshop” competition by teacher Elena Anatolyevna Rim (Moscow State Budgetary Educational Institution “School No. 166”, Structural Unit No. 7). And Yulia Terekhina (5 years old), Elena Anatolyevna’s pupil, performed the corn.

How to make the “Corn Corn” craft:

Step 1. Prepare corn cobs (large, medium and small), cardboard base for crafts, hot glue, fern leaves, fir cones, acorns, leaves, nuts, cereals (barley), decorations for corn (bows, hats, beads, eyes, etc.)

Step 2. Form the corn cobs into characters.

Step 3. Place Kukuruzikov on the cardboard base and decorate the surface waste material. The craft is ready! Good luck!

Craft 3: autumn forest.

This craft was sent to our competition by Anna Yuryevna Kazakova. And he fulfilled it four year old son Anna Maxim in drawing classes led by teacher Alexandra Vladimirovna ("Happy Childhood" club, drawing circle for children "Kalyaka-malyaka", Yoshkar-Ola).

You will need:
- landscape sheet of A 4 format,
- autumn leaves,
- watercolor paints,
brush.

Step by step description:

Step 1. Bring back autumn leaves from a walk.

Step 2. Color the white space of the album sheet as the background. Next, on a sheet of paper, draw vertical lines - trunks autumn trees.

Craft 4: Old Man Lesovichok

This craft was sent by teacher Tatyana Vladimirovna Fedorova from Birsk (Bashkortostan), MADOU Kindergarten No. 8 “Alyonushka”. It was made by a child from Tatyana Vladimirovna’s group ( senior group) with the help of a teacher.

Craft material: larch needles and cones, plasticine. All the parts of the forest tree made from natural materials are fastened together with plasticine.

Craft 5: Hedgehog Applique

This hedgehog was made and sent to our autumn competition children's creativity Sofia (5 years old) and her mother Anna Shikhareva.

Material for making crafts- pine needles, felt, pine cone, cardboard and PVA glue.

If you prefer not applique, but a voluminous hedgehog, then you can easily make it with children from a piece of plasticine, dried chestnut skin and trimmed cotton swabs. But this is a really prickly hedgehog, so be careful. This hedgehog was made by Yulia Romanovna Ruzaeva and her daughter (2 years 8 months) from St. Petersburg. And you will find another craft by Yulia and her daughter, “Giraffe made from chestnuts and acorns,” in the master class in the article

Craft 6. Hedgehog made from piaflora and natural materials

And here is another hedgehog using a different manufacturing technology. It was made and sent to us by Mironets Anna Vladimirovna (mother) and her son Maxim (4 years 9 months) from the Komi Republic, Syktyvkar.

To make the craft we will need:- piaflor, - dried leaves of rowan, gooseberry, serviceberry, - dried flowers, - hairspray.

Description of the craft:

Step 1. Take half a brick of piaflora and cut out the body of a hedgehog from it (it will be shaped like a droplet). Sharp corners must be smoothed out with your hands. Piaflor does not need to be soaked.

Step 2. Divide the dried rowan leaves into separate leaf plates, which are then inserted into the piaflor (into the body of the hedgehog).

Step 3. Hedgehog ears can be made from dried gooseberry leaves. And we’ll make the paws from dried serviceberry leaves.

Step 4. Fold the leaf cuttings several times. We make eyes and a nose out of them.

Step 6. Secure our craft with hairspray. This is the kind of hedgehog you will get.

Craft 7. Caterpillar and hedgehog made from chestnuts

This craft was made and sent to us at our “Autumn Workshop of Children's Crafts” by 4-year-old children together with their teacher Olga Nikolaevna Tegaeva (Moscow region, Sergiev Posad district, Shemetovo village, Novy district, MGBOU d/s no. 75 "Fairy Tale")

To make this craft you will need:

Chestnuts,
- moss,
- branch cut,
- acorn cap,
- tree leaf,
- plasticine.

How to make a caterpillar and a hedgehog from chestnuts:

— We dry the chestnuts to make it easier to separate the prickly skin from the nut.

— While the chestnut nuts are not completely dry, we pierce them with an awl on both sides and insert matches without heads into the resulting holes (for reliability, we glue the matches with glue).

— We form a caterpillar. To do this, select the nuts by size, starting from largest to smallest.

— Glue an acorn cap onto the caterpillar’s head.

— We make caterpillar eyes out of plasticine and attach them.

— Glue the caterpillar onto the stump.

- Now we make a hedgehog from plasticine, and make its prickly back from chestnut peel.

— We place a maple leaf ironed through sheets of white paper on the hedgehog’s spines.

- Lay out the moss.

This is the kind of hedgehog - the caterpillar's friend - you can do.

Craft 8. Basket of pine cones

This craft was made by Polina Durnova (9 years old, Samara, school 118, grade 4B), Maxim Durnov (2 years old) with Durnova’s mother Svetlana from Samara, Krasnaya Glinka village. First, Svetlana and the children tried to make a basket of cones according to the description on the Internet using a glue gun, but...after a day the resulting basket lost its shape and “went” in different directions. Therefore, Svetlana came up with her own technology for making a basket of cones.

How to make a basket of pine cones:

Step 1. Go to the forest, collect a lot of cones.

Helpful Tips:

— If you want to make a durable basket that will serve you for a long time, then you need to take into account this possible fact: closed cones open in a warm room. And this is undesirable if by this time you have already woven the basket. Therefore, it is recommended to cover the cones with a liquid solution of wood glue.

— The strongest connection of cones into a basket is the connection with brown wire (the color of the cones, so that it is less noticeable). To do this, wrap the first cone with wire, then continue to wrap the cones around the wire in a circle, wrapping each of them. We do this until we get a circle the right size. We do this for 2 - 3 rings. And then we connect them into a frame. Connect the pine cones into a basket using a glue gun. But in the next steps you need to secure this structure.

Step 2. Using thin wire, fasten three rings, then connect them into a single basket structure and screw the handle on top. Cones for the handle are also wrapped with thin wire and then tied with wire to a thick base of the handle or thick wire.

Step 3. Place a cardboard circle on the bottom of the resulting structure. Place rowan branches with berries and spruce cones in a basket. The result will be a beautiful autumn composition.

Craft 9: Autumn Ship

Autumn is the time of colorful ships made of leaves, which set off on a voyage known only to them through the endless airspace. The main thing is that the wind is fair. It's time to make your autumn ship.

This ship was made and sent to us at our autumn workshop of children's crafts by Svetlana Nikolaevna Matveeva (Liski, Voronezh region) together with her son (child's age - 3 years 8 months).

To make a craft - a ship from natural materials - you will need:

- plastic tray for food,

- several leaves that can be found on the street (it is better that at least three leaves of them are large sizes- we use them for sails),

- a stick for a sail with a length of 20 to 30 centimeters,

- several thin sticks for making handles,

- plasticine of different colors,

colored paper,

- glue stick,

- ate a few cones,

- parachute seeds of maple or ash maple (optional, optional)

How to make a craft - a boat from natural materials:

Step 1. Make the torso and head of the sailors. The sailors' torso will be cones. From pieces of plasticine we sculpt eyes, a mouth and noses, which we attach to the bumps so that we get the faces of sailors.

Step 2. We make caps for sailors - big shots.

To do this:

— Using caps of various diameters, we draw circles on colored paper - the future caps of our sailors (select the diameter of the circle suitable size).

- Cut out circles.

— From paper of a different color, cut out several thin strips, calculating two strips per circle (the length is arbitrary, but keep in mind that these will be visor ribbons, so do not overdo it with the length).

— Glue two strips to each capless mug close to each other.

— In the center of each capless circle we glue a piece of plasticine the size of one or two beans.

- We attach these caps to the tops of our cones - the sailors now have caps.

Step 3. We make the arms and legs of the sailors.

- Determine where your sailors will have their hands and glue a couple of pieces of plasticine there, to which you attach small thin sticks - these will be the sailors’ hands.

— We make the legs from plasticine. The shape of the legs should resemble flippers so that the bump stands and does not fall in our ship. To make legs, we make “sausages” from pieces of plasticine the size of walnuts - small but thick, and then we flatten them and attach them to the bottom of our cones.

The sailors are ready.

Step 4. Making the sails. Using a large stick, we make holes in several large leaves, and we pull the latter through this stick to make several sails on one mast. The junctions of the leaves with each other can be slightly glued with plasticine, then the leaves will not move towards each other and fall down.

We placed a basket of ash maple “helicopters” at the top of the mast. To do this, we simply covered a piece of plasticine with these helicopters, dividing them into single seed plates, and then glued this piece of plasticine to the top of the mast. However, such a “basket” is not necessary if you have no “helicopter” seeds.

Step 5. Attach the mast to the base of the ship.

To attach the mast to a ship from a plastic tray, we glue a piece of plasticine slightly smaller in size to the tray approximately in the middle walnut(don’t skimp on the plasticine, we need the mast to hold tight). We insert our mast into it. For better fastening mast, you can stretch the plasticine a little along the trunk of our mast.

In a tray-ship on free seats arrange our sailors, lightly pressing their flippers and legs to the bottom so that they stick and hold firmly on the deck. Along the sides of the ship, you can glue leaves of different trees and/or flowers onto pieces of plasticine, but this is not necessary - see for yourself what you like best. It is also not necessary to put a dragon's head on the bow of your ship.

The bow of the ship can be anything, but we made a dinosaur head out of plasticine and attached it to the bow of our ship.

The autumn ship is ready and can go to any fairy tale that you want to create with your child!

Craft 10. Picture for V. Suteev’s fairy tale “Under the Mushroom” made from natural materials

Four-year-old children, Katerina Mochalova, Adele Kuchieva, Kolya Krupennikov, Vlad Sbudyshev, Anatoly Akhtemenchuk and Yana Mukhantseva, made this craft for dramatizing Suteev’s fairy tale “Under the Mushroom” together with their teacher. Teacher - Denisova Svetlana Aleksandrovna. Children go to kindergarten MADOU d/s No. 2 “Caramel” ShchMR MO in the city of Shchelkovo, Moscow region.

Preparatory stage: watching the cartoon “Mushroom Teremok”, reading the fairy tale “Under the Mushroom” by V. Suteev.

Materials for making crafts based on a fairy tale from natural materials:

- pine and spruce cones

- plasticine

- wire

- mushroom toy

- base for crafts

- maple, rowan leaves

- corrugated paper

- scissors

- PVA glue

- pine twig

- matches

- cork

Step-by-step instructions for making crafts:

Step 1. Prepare the base.

We cover the A4 size box with green corrugated paper. On this paper we glue maple leaves, previously ironed through sheets of white paper.

Step 2. We make trees as decorations.

Take a piece of plasticine, roll it into a ball and knead it until you get a round cake. We insert a rowan leaf, previously ironed through a sheet of paper, onto this cake with a branch facing up. You can also insert a pine twig into the “cake”. Such trees decorate our foundation.

Step 3. Attach a large mushroom.

In the middle of the base we attach the finished mushroom - either to plasticine or glue.

Step 4. D Let's look at the main characters of the fairy tale (ant, butterfly, sparrow, bunny, fox).

All heroes are made from pine cones and plasticine.

How to make fairy-tale characters from pine cones and plasticine:

Ant:

Take a fir cone. The narrow tip of the cone is pulled out using brown plasticine. Black plasticine eyes are attached to the ant’s “head”. The paws can be made from wire, attaching them evenly over the entire cone with plasticine. We make the antennae of the ant from 2 matches without heads.

Sparrow:

The toy is created from a pine cone, the eyes are made from two small corks, the paws are made from three matches (attached to plasticine). The beak and tail are made using plasticine: attach the plasticine to the pine cone and stretch it into the desired shape.

Butterfly:

A butterfly can be created from a fir cone by attaching two multi-colored circles of corrugated paper to it using wire. To do this, a hole is pierced in the paper (from the edge of the circle closest to the cone), a wire is threaded into the resulting hole and the wing is attached to the component part of the cone. The same action must be done from the other end. The butterfly's head can be made from plasticine by attaching it to the body of the toy on the narrow side of the cone.

Hare: the toy consists of a fir cone and blue plasticine. The paws, ears and head are molded from plasticine. We also make the eyes from platinum of a different color.

Fox: The fox is easy to make. We will need a fir cone and orange plasticine. The fox's muzzle is molded from a plasticine orange sausage and stretched out in the shape of a fox's nose. A black nose is attached to the muzzle.

Step 5. We make a composition based on a fairy tale.

Let's put the heroes under a mushroom. We attach the butterfly in the corner to the base of the composition.

We wish creative fantasies and imagination, and then you will have your own fairy tale!

Craft 11. Apple caterpillar

This craft was made by Danila Ankushev together with his parents from the Strekhninsky kindergarten (senior group “Friendly Family”). And teacher Elena Yaroslavtseva sent us a craft for the autumn workshop.

How to make a caterpillar: The caterpillar's body is made from apples. We make the legs from earplugs (sold at the pharmacy). Wooden toothpicks are used to hold the parts together. The craft is decorated with a grape snail shell.

Another option for making caterpillars from apples was sent to us from the city of Kungur, Perm Territory (Madou “Kindergarten No. 6”). This caterpillar was completed by Arina Kulyashova, 6 years old. Teachers: Zueva Tatyana Vladimirovna, Karaguzheva Rufina Viktorovna.

How else can you make a caterpillar from apples: option 2.

This caterpillar is made from apples. The apples are held together with toothpicks. The legs are carved from carrots. They also hang on to toothpicks and walk on autumn leaves glued to a landscape sheet. The fashionista dressed up in chokeberry beads. Berries are collected on a string. The eyes are made of red rowan and are also held on by toothpicks. The caterpillar wore it instead of a hat beautiful flower, hooked it on herself with a toothpick and went to the fair.

Arina created such a cheerful caterpillar made from natural materials.

Craft 12. Cheerful family made of acorns

Alexandra Albertovna Naumkina made this and the next three crafts from natural materials with her children, together with her son Vanya (4 years old) and daughter Masha (1 year 3 months), Barnaul, Altai region. Here's what Alexandra writes:

To make this craft you will need:

- a piece of branch or tree bark,

- acorns,

- black marker,

- glue gun or Moment glue.

How to make a cheerful family from natural materials:

Step 1. Draw faces.

I showed my son how to draw a face on an acorn. Gave him permanent marker and acorns and left him. These are the weird faces we got.

Step 2. Glue the hats on our little people.

We glued the hats on with Moment glue.

Step 3. Attach the family.

But I had to tinker with gluing it to the bark. I spread Moment glue on the bark. Place something rectangular behind it so that the craft will hold while gluing, place the acorns on the bark and leave them to stick.

Please note: Moment glue can only be used by an adult without the presence of children in a well-ventilated area, because it's toxic. Instead of glue, you can use a safety glue gun; an adult can also use it.

All! The cheerful family is ready.

Craft 13. Interior craft “Autumn Branch”

We made a beautiful interior craft. My son made it himself. The main thing is that it is done very simply.

Step 1. We found more interesting branches in the forest and brought them home.

Step 2. Dried the leaves in books between the pages.

Step 4. Then we decided to complement our composition and make owls from plasticine and place them on autumn branches.

To do this, we took cones, maple seeds (“helicopters”) for the wings and plasticine.

I made the first owl, my son made the second.

We attached them to the branches using plasticine and they held up well.

This beautiful composition now decorates our home! And, most importantly, this craft is very easy to make.

Another option for making an autumn branch was sent to us by Natalya Oshueva (Balashikha) and her son Oshuev Vanya (3 years 8 months).

Autumn branch on the wall: second version of the mobile

Natalya writes: “I first laminated the leaves. My son and I cut them out, made holes and threaded strings. The branch was found on the street. They hung it with leaves. The end result was a branch with fallen leaves.”

Craft 14: hedgehogs made from pine cones and salt dough

Alexandra Naumkina shared with us her experience of making hedgehogs with her son.

Step 1. We kneaded salt dough together with my son. He loves baking so much that he kneads all the dough himself, and I just tell him what to use and in what proportion.

Salt dough recipe (proportions): wheat flour - 2 cups, fine salt - 1 cup, water - 3/4 cups. The finished dough should not crumble or stick to your hands.

Step 2. We molded two hedgehogs together: mother and baby. Here I gave more of the final shape. We stuck the cones in and put the oven in the oven.

Step 3. The next day (after the hedgehogs had cooled down), we painted them with gouache paint. But if you need hedgehogs for a longer period, then it is better to use acrylic paints. We sculpted a nose from plasticine and glued on the eyes.

My son and I were just studying it, so my son became so interested in sculpting mushrooms from plasticine that he himself sculpted a lot of different mushrooms for hedgehogs.

Craft 15: Autumn leaf mobile

for the development of speech breathing in children

Alexandra Albertovna Naumkina also made this craft from natural materials for her children - Vanya (4 years old) and Masha (1 year 3 months). This family lives in the city of Barnaul, Altai Territory.

Alexandra writes:

“Our craft was born, one might say, spontaneously.

Step 1. As a base for the mobile, I cut out a rim from a cardboard disposable plate.

Step 2. I tied a string of yarn onto the resulting headband at approximately the same distance. yellow. From the same yarn I made a pendant that our craft will hold on to.

Step 3. Making fairy-tale characters from chestnuts. We make crafts from fruits that have just fallen from the tree while they are soft (this applies to crafts from chestnuts, acorns and cones).

The main way we will use to fasten the parts of crafts together is with plasticine and toothpicks. To do this:

- first, carefully pierce the chestnuts with an awl,

— insert toothpicks into the resulting holes and secure the joints with glue.

In the photo, the bear is made of chestnuts and plasticine, the man is made of chestnuts and acorns, the hedgehog is made of chestnut peel and plasticine, the owl is made of chestnut.

The birds' eyes are made from acorn caps, and the birds' beaks, legs and wings are made from plasticine.

Spiders can also be made from chestnuts. Small holes are made in the chestnut with an awl in the places where the legs will be attached. The spiders' legs are made from toothpicks, which are inserted into the holes in the chestnuts and secured with glue.

Craft 21. Autumn sun made from natural materials

The idea of this craft was shared with us by Maria Shchukina, mother of two children (Vova - 4 years and 8 months and Anyuta - 1 year and 3 months), St. Petersburg. Maria writes: “This is my favorite autumn craft, and I have been nurturing this idea for a long time. We did it with great pleasure :). We came up with everything ourselves.”

What you will need to make an autumn sun from natural materials:

- PVA glue,

- a lot of autumn leaves from different trees and shrubs (we even collected from rose hips),

- rowan berries,

- rose hips,

- acorns,

- watercolor paints,

- thread and needle,

- any natural material.

How to make a sun with children from natural materials:

Step 1 Draw on A3 Whatman paper big circle and cover it with maple leaves. We collected the leaves in advance, and for some time they were kept in our journal. This way they became very smooth and easily stuck to the paper.

Step 2 Then we use our imagination and also paste in a circle any leaves and natural materials to your taste. The circle becomes more voluminous.

Step 3 Draw the face of the sun: eyes, nose and mouth.

The mood of the autumn sun can be anything - cheerful or sad, surprised or delighted - whoever feels the autumn mood, discuss this with the children when making crafts.

Step 4 Sew rowan earrings on the sun (you can sew on rose hips or any flowers). I used the largest needle and simply sewed the rowan to the Whatman paper as if it were regular fabric. At the same time, I secured the thread on the back side of the Whatman paper with tape. You can also sew on many other decorations.

Step 5 In the upper corners of the Whatman paper we glue the acorns with PVA glue, having previously cut them in half lengthwise. I hope you enjoy our autumn sunshine made from available natural materials :).

Children's crafts made from natural materials on the go

You don't have to make a complicated children's craft. Many crafts from natural materials can be made on the go, without preparation. They can be used as quickly created attributes for children's games. Natalya Mikhailovna Oshueva (Balashikha) shared her ideas with us. These are very simple crafts she did it with her son Vanya, aged 3 years 8 months, and with her daughter Masha (1 year 4 months).

Wreath of leaves

We collect a lot of leaves while walking and string them on wire. We connect the ends of the wire and get an autumn wreath of leaves. We hang the wreath by a rope. We also decorate the rope with leaves.

Crown of leaves

The crown is very simple to make.

Step 1. We made a blank from paper - a “hoop” according to the size of the child’s head, approximately 5 cm wide.

Step 2. We glued double-sided tape on top, and then my daughter glued leaves onto it.

Autumn trees

Natalya writes: “To quickly make autumn trees, we used rolls from toilet paper And corrugated paper, cut into strips. The children pushed the paper inside the roll as best they could. In the end, it turned out well, bright and autumn-like.”

You can also place autumn branches and autumn leaves collected on a walk in a roll.

Pumpkins made from pine cones

In this craft we used fluffy wire. They took a cone and wrapped it in orange fluffy wire. Next, green leaves were attached to it. fluffy wire. To make green spring leaves, we first wound the wire around a pencil, then removed it from the pencil and got green spirals.

Hedgehog

To make the hedgehog we used an eaten sunflower.

— The muzzle and body were cut out of foam plastic. It is better to do this in advance as an adult.

— The top of the muzzle was covered with plasticine.

— The sunflower “needles” were glued to the foam with glue using a hot gun.

— Decorated autumn leaves and a clearing with pine cones for the hedgehog.

Autumn time is rich in wonderful gifts of nature. Some of them delight us with culinary delights, because delicious dishes can be prepared from a variety of vegetables and fruits, while others, in the form of multi-colored foliage, delight the eye with their bright colors. Usually all this beauty almost instantly falls like a motley blanket to the ground, which is why it very quickly loses its attractiveness. Unfortunately, few people know what can be done to thereby prolong his life. But crafts made from leaves, cones and chestnuts are not only funny figures and applications (although how can you imagine childhood without these cute little things?), but also original and truly beautiful home decor.

+100,500 options and ideas

So, what can be made from natural materials? It all depends on what the craft is needed for. In today’s article we will look at more than one option for beautiful products that you can create yourself, using only available means. Many of them are children's crafts, for example, various animals made from natural materials, toys, and even cartoon and computer game characters. But it can also be unusual trees, topiary, unique panels and compositions that will delight and remind you of the wonderful autumn time cold winter.

It is impossible to describe all the masterpieces that talented craftsmen create from natural materials. Autumn bouquet or photo frame, original vase or decorative figurine, Christmas tree decoration or a painting - the imagination of talented masters is simply limitless. Moreover, their creativity does not stop at soulless interior items, extending much further. For example, to design a children's photo shoot using ordinary grass, leaves, grains and maple seeds. Have you ever imagined that such beauty can be made from natural materials? Of course, the end result will appeal not only to adults, but also to children themselves, who can be involved in all stages of creating a photo collage, from collecting plants to decorating their own photographs.

Transformation of flora into fauna

First, let's tell you how various animals are made from natural materials. First of all, let's differentiate between the types of crafts. These can be applications that are created using leaves and small elements. Such material is usually glued to a base - a cardboard sheet, fabric or wooden plank using a glue stick or PVA. This composition turns out flat and looks like a picture.

With the help of leaves and blades of grass, you can create a wide variety of representatives of the animal world; the main thing is to choose the right material in color, size and texture. The craft will “come to life” if you add a design to it, giving the animals a muzzle, a tail, or even prey. Miniature parts can also be created from natural material by trimming the leaves in some places to remove excess. It is better to glue the elements onto a schematic representation of the animal, this will make it easier to maintain symmetry and select individual parts of the figure.

However, there is another type of crafts in the form of animals. This can be a three-dimensional composition made of natural material. Most often, nuts, acorns, cones and chestnuts are used. The body and head are made from them, and matches, twigs, floral wire or plasticine are used as legs, paws, and neck. Making such crafts from natural materials is quick and beautiful; you can even use ready-made animal figurines, as long as they fit organically into the overall concept.

Wayward Tangle

The most popular hero and prototype of children's figurines at kindergarten exhibitions is none other than the hedgehog. It is not for nothing that this prickly inhabitant of the forest is considered a symbol of autumn, because the paraphernalia of this season suits him very well: nuts, mushrooms, apples and berries. A hedgehog made from natural material can be made from leaves, for example, like this in the photo below.

Its creation will not be particularly difficult. The main thing is to choose a lot of leaves of the same size and shape. Elongated leaves with sharp tips are best suited, from which the needles for the prickly lump will be obtained. You can decorate the hedgehog with an apple and a mushroom of a different color; the muzzle, tummy and paws should also be slightly different from the animal’s fur coat. The finishing touches are the bean nose, mouth and eyes.

Below is another hedgehog made from natural material, made from plasticine and pumpkin seeds. This - volumetric craft, petite, but extremely cute. By placing the hedgehog on an improvised stump and complementing it with a green spruce branch and a bunch of red berries (rowan, hawthorn, rose hip), you will complete the work and you will have a wonderful composition from natural material.

Winged miracle

Another favorite of children and adults is the round-eyed owl. This bird can be made in a variety of ways: from a piece of bark, feathers, thread, leaves. We will demonstrate to our readers a wonderful and very easy-to-make craft. Such an owl made from natural material consists of a pine cone, several acorn caps, “helicopters” taken from ash or maple, a hop cone and a couple of pieces of bark. In order to assemble the craft, you need to stock up on good glue - it could be “Moment”, “Second” or silicone for a hot gun.

Such an owl is made from natural material very quickly:

  • you need to prepare the parts by selecting a lush cone, detaching the caps from the acorns and picking up small pieces of bark;
  • the material must be cleaned of dirt and dried well so that the glue securely connects the parts of the owl;
  • bark should be glued to the sides of the bump-body - these will be the wings;
  • in the upper part, using acorn caps, we form the eyes, and above them we attach maple seeds - these are the eyebrows;
  • The final touch is a small bump that will become the beak.

In this simple way we get a wonderful bird from natural material, which will not be difficult to get in any city park.

Autumn landscape

When talking about crafts, it is impossible to ignore such a type of creativity as appliqué. A little higher we already talked about how you can use leaves to lay out figures of animals and birds, but what else can be made from natural material? An excellent craft would be a fantasy landscape in which one leaf turns into a whole tree, and their combination into a real dense forest. To compose such a composition, it is very important to choose the ideal material, because it will need to be glued onto the paper entirely, and when laid out, all the flaws will be visible on the sheet. With the help of such an application, you can clearly demonstrate all the riot of colors of fading nature and organically place leaves taken from different trees.

Autumn vegetation also receives an unusual embodiment in the form of representatives of the underwater world. Miniature oblong and oval leaves make very realistic schools of nimble fish, larger material can easily be turned into pot-bellied crucian carp, and various blades of grass and thin twigs will make up the flora growing on the bottom of the sea. By placing the composition inside a cardboard box, you will get a wonderful “aquarium”.

Simple but tasteful

There are crafts on our list that will not be so easy to make, because it will take a little longer than creating the usual products from leaves and fruits, but they are more durable, practical and useful. First of all, this applies to wall panels. The basis of the compositions we propose is a board, but it can be replaced with cardboard, covered with fabric. It could be burlap, linen canvas. The purpose of the work is to create a certain plot, it could be a village house, a forest landscape, a river, an apiary, a shed with firewood or a small cart. Based on the proposed photo, you can make excellent crafts from natural materials for the kindergarten, which will be useful not only as an exhibition item, but will also become an excellent decoration for the group.

To create the elements of the composition you will need to prepare various items:

  • straight sticks;
  • small branches resembling trees;
  • pieces of bark for walls, roofs, mountains;
  • small and neat leaves;
  • dried flowers;
  • nut shells;
  • “log” made from sticks.

You can add color variety using pre-made pumpkin and apple figures. With the help of paints, you will need to finalize the picture, completing patterns on buildings and other man-made elements (you can use a burner for the same purpose), the landscape, the sky. All parts are attached to the base with glue.

Assembling panels should begin, as in the case of appliqué, by creating a schematic image. This will help determine the placement of elements, their sizes and visual harmonization of the entire composition. It would be better to open the top of the craft with varnish - this will make it more resistant to external influences.

Wish tree

Next in our review will be a tree made from natural material. This topic is relevant in several seasons, as it can be an autumn or winter craft. The additional materials used in each case are different, although the base is often the same - a beautiful branch. Only in the case of autumn crafts it remains unprocessed, but from natural materials it can be covered with a layer of white or silver acrylic paint.

Any materials you like can be used as decoration for the tree - these are leaves and garlands made from them, berries, nuts, fruits, miniature crafts, including those made from paper. Cones should be specially noted in this list - they are the basis for many interesting ideas.

From those that grow on Christmas trees, you can easily create wonderful elves - real forest spirits. Curly oak leaves will become their wings, a bunch of dyed wool for felting or floral sisal will turn into luxurious hair, and you can make wonderful caps from felt or acorns. It would be a bit of a pity to take such crafts made from natural materials to kindergarten - they turn out so funny.

Topiary made from natural material

Recently, the palm among autumn crafts deservedly holds the topiary. From natural material you can make many options for small trees with a round crown. Traditionally, it is a ball decorated with flowers, shells, nuts, coffee beans or any other small objects that can be compactly and neatly attached to the base. The crown is installed on a trunk planted in a small flower pot.

Autumn flowers are a separate topic for conversation. Nature, preparing for a long winter, pleases with a stunning abundance of chrysanthemums, oak trees, asters and dahlias. Their lush colorful corollas go well with a variety of natural materials. The classic composition can be generously flavored with luxurious maple leaves, a crimson branch of wild grapes or a twig of yellow-salad willow. An excellent and especially relevant addition would be bushy plants with late elastic berries (rose hips, hawthorn, rowan).

A bouquet of autumn leaves and flowers can be small, crowning one small vase, but a multi-tiered composition will look no less appropriate. When composing it, it is important to maintain proportions, making each new “floor” a little smaller than the previous one.

Seasonal decor

Finally, we will share with our readers ideas for original autumn crafts with which you can decorate your home, make it a little more comfortable and warmer. The colorful foliage on the trees will not please you for long; with the first frost it will fall off, but it is very easy to make the view from the window not so dull and gray. To do this, you just need to string small, but definitely beautiful leaves onto long threads or fishing line in the form of garlands that decorate window openings.

Golden autumn can also be “brought” home in the form of elegant candlesticks or vases. To do this, a jar of an interesting shape or an ordinary transparent glass needs to be covered in a circle with colored leaves. Freshly collected material will not lie beautifully on the vessel; first, it will need to be dried a little so that the elasticity disappears from the sheet and it becomes more pliable. You need to work with regular PVA, it will perfectly fix the decor on the glass, and after drying it will become transparent. In addition, this type of glue will not be afraid of the heat of a burning candle inside the cup.

Making crafts from natural materials is a good hobby not only for children, but also for adults. Making something beautiful from what you can find literally under your feet is a real miracle. Moreover, despite the simplicity of execution, such crafts often look very impressive and fit into any interior.

Crafts made from natural materials come in different varieties. If production involves working with tools, for example, saws or pruners, the child should not be allowed to do this. However, working with materials like pine cones, twigs or dry leaves for a herbarium is something that is ideal for children.

Eco-style flower vase

  • You will need branches and a regular glass vase.
  • Cover the vase with branches. Branches may be slightly deviated from vertical position, interbreed with each other.

Apple roses

  • Slice the apples as thinly as you can.
  • Gently boil them in sweet syrup (0.5 liters of water per glass of sugar).
  • Roll the slices like a bud. The caramelized sugar will cause the apple pieces to stick together.
  • Store the resulting craft in a muffin tin. You can simply serve apples as a dessert or decorate a cake with them.
