You will definitely need a soft nail file to fix loose shellac.

Super-resistant coatings have already been tested by many. Someone wears them all the time, someone does for a specific occasion. One way or another, sometimes they let us down, and chips appear. It is not so important what their reason is - in the mistake of the master or in the wrong time of a heavy office door that flew over the finger. Real problems begin when there is no way to instantly put everything in order.

How to fix peeling shellac if you don't have a UV or LED lamp

In order not to face the problem of an irreparably chipped manicure, pick up a small bottle of any varnish in the store that resembles your shellac as much as possible and carry it with you. It's a little more complicated if you have a complex design on your hands, but you can still usually choose the color that is the main one.

Be sure to also put a soft file in your purse. natural nails, then you will meet possible chips fully armed.

If the gel polish has chipped off, don't panic. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for 10-15 minutes, get a nail file and get to work. Now our task is to align the edges of the chip. Shellac is usually quite thick and, if one piece is missing, a large difference is created between the surfaces of the colored layer and the nail. Here it also needs to be aligned.

It is pointless to paint with varnish just over the hole, without processing with a file (even with a very thick layer). Believe me, it won't get better!

After filing the edges of the chip, remove all dust and only then apply regular varnish. Best of all - for the entire nail, in 2-3 thin layers, carefully drying each one.

If you have a lamp and gel polish, fixing loose shellac is even easier.

The technology is basically the same. But its indisputable plus is that this is not a temporary solution. It is possible that with a tweaked manicure, you move away all due time... Some do not even remove the gel polish every two weeks, but simply make a correction according to the described principle.

Gel polishes can be applied thicker than regular polish, without fear that something will not dry out somewhere. However, it is also not recommended to thicken the claws too much, since the likelihood of chips increases in this situation.

Something else interesting

If you are wondering where to buy cheap manicure jewelry, read our new article.

Today, while discussing the most popular and trending manicure decorations, we will take a look at the inexpensive offers of the famous AliExpress website. It is difficult to find a person who would not have heard of him, but not everyone resorted to the services of Chinese sellers for many reasons. Some are afraid that the product will be of poor quality or will not look at all like in the picture. Others are disgusted with the idea of online payment for purchases, especially since the seller is very far away, and there will be no opportunity to meet with him in the event of a conflict of interest. Today Manikyr.ru will show you some interesting things that are not so easy to find in retail stores, as well as describe the features of the choice of goods and the possible difficulties that arise in connection with this.

Aliexpress has all the most popular new items nail industry... Moreover, there are even things that you have not seen before. Let's see what is the most popular right now.

Three-dimensional modeling is back in fashion. It is used in manicure very carefully. Small flower arrangements occupy about a third of the nail plate. Of course, not everyone knows how to perform such a manicure with high quality, especially at home. Going to the salon to try an interesting novelty is also not convenient for everyone.

But the Chinese offer whole placers of small flowers. different shades made of special polymer clay... They are lightweight, strong enough, and they are fixed on gels and gel polishes no more difficult than any other jewelry. In principle, they can even be fixed with special glue for rhinestones and false nails, using ordinary varnish that hardens in the air as a background, but the strength of such a manicure will be relatively low.

All sorts of volumetric designs from shining crystals are also recognized by fashionistas all over the world. Nowadays it is quite fashionable to make an accent of large sparkling particles on one or two fingers.

It is not convenient for everyone, however, this proposal is in trend. In retail stores, a set of several crystals costs at least 300 rubles, and on AliExpress - in the range of 50-100 rubles.

Elongated multifaceted holographic rhinestones are relatively comfortable to wear, but it is very important to fill their bases with transparent varnish so that there are no gaps anywhere. Such jewelry is ideally fixed on gel or biogel and, a little worse, on gel polish. We do not recommend attaching them to ordinary varnishes.

The sparkling play of edges will help to make any image unforgettable and will create a summer mood even on days when the sun is hiding behind clouds and the weather cannot be called hot at all.

Where is the summer without fruit? Flat and bright polymer clay discs will perfectly complement summer manicure. They will greatly help out those who are not very good at drawing on nails, but dream of joining as a universal citrus-watermelon mania. Fimo are very cheap, sometimes they are sold cut, in special sets, and sometimes in the form of sticks that you can cut into discs yourself with a clerical knife.

Summer manicure often includes marine motifs, and they, in turn, are perfectly complemented by pearls different sizes... Such nail decorations is also on AliExpress, and you can buy them directly in bulk, in which there are pearls of absolutely any size, and also within 100 rubles!

The Pixie micro-rhinestones, invented by Swarovski, are widely recognized internationally. In China, you can buy their counterpart. We will not hide the fact that you will have to choose carefully, because some types of crystal chips turn out to be too large or unclear, but after studying the reviews of previous buyers, which are often supplied with photographs of their purchase, you can easily choose the right product and not miscalculate.

Of course, most of the sliders are also brought from there. Some of them seem too wild and bright, while others, on the contrary, fascinate with their graceful design. Whatever one may say, in retail sale one sheet of water stickers costs 50, or even 250 rubles, and on AliExpress it can be bought within 5-20 rubles, and even get free shipping by mail.

The choice of water stickers on Ali is truly huge, and problems with them are rare (although, you should also study the reviews). Free postage is not the fastest solution, but on average, goods do not take three weeks, sometimes two weeks.

In the same way, stencils can be purchased via the Internet, and the most different types... If you are good at working with them, then the goods offered by Chinese sellers will serve you as well as those purchased in your hometown.

How to order jewelry successfully and not be disappointed?

The Chinese site AliExpress is really a kind of lottery, where you can buy both good products and outright junk. But the big plus of this resource in comparison with the same eBay is that each product has not only a rating, but also customer reviews. The seller has a separate rating, and in the upper left above the product you can see how long he has been working with online sales and how popular he is with customers.

You can always compare products, find something more interesting or cheaper. Below, under all the reviews and descriptions of the offered item, there is a menu called "similar products", and it also has a lot of interesting things. On that website nail decorations presented in such a quantity that the eyes just run up.

If you are looking for something specific, it is better to type the search phrase into English language... Of course, the site has long been Russified, but many names still sound like an incomprehensible set of words, practically unrelated to the proposed product.

In the search on the site, you can select a huge number of parameters: products rated only five stars, products with free shipping, products in the price category "from and to", and so on. For those who like to save money, this is just a great solution.

If the goods arrived defective, or if the protection period expires, and the purchase has not yet arrived, you can always contact the seller. In most cases (and when it comes to cheap jewelry for nails, in 99%), the seller simply returns the money, because he is afraid to receive a negative assessment, which will immediately spoil his rating.

A well-chosen shape of nails will help make your hands more graceful and attractive.

It is believed that nail shape connected. Whether or not it is true, this issue has received quite a lot of attention. Giving claws, no matter natural or artificial, a successful configuration is one of the most important tasks of manicure. It would seem that the process itself is extremely simple: it comes down to filing the free edge of the nail plates with a suitable tool in order to obtain a flawless symmetrical and identical shape of all claws. In practice, it turns out that it is not so easy to achieve the desired perfection. It's like drawing the same "arrows" on the eyelids right off the bat.

However, even at home, even without being an experienced master with a dozen special courses under his belt, you can try to achieve the ideal form. But first, it is worth understanding what the final result is striving for, because configurations are very diverse, and in order to have the correct idea of whether such a design is suitable for you or not, you need to have at least a general understanding of the basics of the psychology of perception.

Each nail shape has its own name and characteristic features.

  • Square nails (and rectangular, like their elongated version).

They gained maximum popularity a couple of years ago, and since then, many beauties have adhered only to this option to the detriment of everyone else. You can easily guess that such nails have practically no fillets at the corners. They can be grinded there only minimally to reduce the sharpness, but visually such softening is almost imperceptible.

Supporters square nails claim that this is the ideal form if you have to type a lot on the keyboard or work with a calculator. In terms of performing at home, the square is quite simple, so this option for nail design is very much loved by almost all nail service masters. In fact, the only thing we need to get here is a perfectly flat and neatly sanded cut.

Of course, it is also very important to ensure that all nails are of the same length, but even a schoolboy can cope with this task.

  • Oval nails have been the most popular shape in the world for a very long time.

Now they are fighting for the championship with rectangular and square configurations and, I must say, are inferior to them. Oval shape emphasizes femininity, tenderness. The essence of the design of the edge here is that it exactly repeats the natural line of the cuticle, reflecting it in a mirror-like way - with the convex side outward.

This option is often confused with almond nails, although he is much more modest and comfortable. This configuration is ideal for those who work a lot with their hands, are in contact with a large number of people and prefer a discreet manicure. The oval shape usually decorates nail plates short and medium length.

  • A shape called a soft square is just a hybrid between the previous two options.

This shape is very popular among those who would gladly wear rectangular or square claws, if they did not irritate their sharp edges, constantly clinging to something or scratching the skin. The free edge here has a minimal, but quite noticeable rounding at the edges.

  • Almond-shaped nails are characterized by the complete absence of pronounced corners near the lateral leather ridges.

The butt is rounded and sharpened much stronger than if it simply reflected the shape of the cuticle. This design allows you to visually make wide and not very long fingers more graceful, especially if you cover the nail plate with a flesh or translucent varnish.

The rounding varies with the length of the nails, but generally resembles the configuration of an almond, hence the name.

  • Aggressive stiletto nails are suitable for artistic extravagant natures.

This shape implies a long nail length. The peculiarity of this configuration is that the nail plate has a sharp sharpening in the middle, and the sides are sharpened almost in a straight line.

Such a manicure is not suitable for everyone. For example, owners of thin long fingers should completely abandon this option, as it will make their hands look like bird's feet.

Recently, stiletto nails have become popular again. Nevertheless, given the controversy of such a choice, Manikyr.ru recommends that you pay attention to a similar, but more modest variation: the form of "ballerina" or "pointe shoes".

  • The sensational nail shape Ballerina in 2016 is similar to Stiletto, but not so aggressive.

Instead of a predatory sharpening, a small straight platform is located in the center of the nail, to which the sidewalls, ground in a straight line, converge. This form really resembles ballet pointe shoes. It allows you to give your hands grace, to place any design you like on the nail plates, and at the same time not to make others think that you are out hunting.

The latest trend, combined with the configuration of such nails: matte finish with a few sparkling accents.

In order for the shape of the nails to be perfect, you need to follow a few rules.

  • Never rush to get your nails done. If something breaks or has acquired clues, of course, you can fix the case with a file, but you need to seriously sit down to process your nails in a calm atmosphere.
  • It is very important to get a good table lamp and do a manicure with decent lighting, which will not allow you to mow such a long-verified claw shape.
  • Only high-quality should be used for final surface grinding. good files, ideally porcelain or glass. In this case, work should be done with a fresh surface. If the abrasive is already worn out, it's time to purchase another tool.

Almost 2 years ago I tried Shellac for the first time, and since the beginning of last year I have been using it regularly, rarely taking “rest” breaks.

Below are the answers to the most common questions about the use of gel polishes, called Shellac for short. The post will be useful to the same clumsy manicure, like me, but not to eminent gourmands :)

Who needs Shellac and why

First of all, Shellac is a salvation for those who want to have a neat manicure that can last for quite a long time (up to two weeks, as a rule, stable). For those who do not get tired of walking with the same color of nail polish. And for those who have naturally weak nails.

The last point, by the way, is the main reason why I constantly cover my nails with gel polish. Without it, I either have to go to a manicure every 4 days for a regular coating, or, without coating, my nails break at the root, exfoliate and behave absolutely horribly.

Do Shellac nails deteriorate?

Definitely yes. With regular use of gel polishes, nails become thinner, they can break and exfoliate. This is probably due to the nasty composition of the funds. Or maybe because the nails “don't breathe” under the shellac.
In addition, shellac is quite aggressively removed from the nails, which also does not add positive to them.

How to properly shoot Shellac

Any master will tell you that you need to remove shellac correctly in the salon :) With a special tool and Feng Shui. Any active user of Shellac will argue with him and teach you all the wisdom, of which, by the way, there are not many.

To remove shellac yourself, you need to very gently and carefully walk along varnish coating with a nail file or a grainy buff, removing the top layer of varnish. Then, attach a cotton swab soaked in conventional IDSL with acetone to the nail and wrap each nail in foil. Wait 5-15 minutes and gently scrape off the shellac from the nail with a wood manicure stick. In more detail (and with pictures) about this method -.

What affects Shellac's resilience

I always feel very offended if I “didn’t reach” a day or two (or even a week!) To the next manicure, and the coating had already taken on an obscene look - chips, detachments, etc. appeared. Empirically (and, as always, on my own skin, or rather, nails), I found out that there are several factors that affect the durability of the coating:

The condition of your own nails - the worse it is, the less gel polish lasts. However, even with the worst condition of my nails, Shellac lasted for at least a week.

The level of skill of the manicurist - the master can poorly degrease the nail plate, put too thick a layer of gel, put the top coat poorly, not withstand the proper drying time under the lamp - and all this will affect the duration of Shellac on the nails.

- “Age” of shellac itself - whatever the masters say, but the gel polish from the new bottle, not thickened and elastic, fits perfectly on the nails, the coating turns out to be very thin and without bald spots. When the “old” Shellac is usually very thick, it lays down on the nails with a “pie”, it feels unpleasant, it can strip and leave ugly stains.

What are the best coatings

For the entire time of using Shellac, I tried coatings from all the most famous manufacturers - CND Shellac, Gelish, Jessica, and it is CND that is in the lead in my personal hit parade. First of all, because of the durability and consistently even coating. Although, for the sake of objectivity, I did not notice much difference between them. Is that gel polish "Jessica", for my taste, less persistent.

What if the coating is still in order, but the cuticles are overgrown and the nails do not look neat?

Even if you have the opportunity, time and money to do a helium-coated manicure every week, it is not recommended. It is advised to take a break of 2-2.5 weeks. Naturally, the cuticle grows back well during this time, and general form leaves much to be desired. What to do?

1) You can go for an “intermediate” hygienic manicure in about a week - your cuticle will be treated and a fresh top layer will be applied to the Shellac.

2) Use cuticle removers every 3-4 days. It is better to apply it after a shower, withstand the necessary time, squeeze the cuticle with a stick and wash your hands well with soap.

3) Be sure to use peels and hand scrubs, preferably at least once every 3 days. There is a double benefit - and the cuticle will grow less, and the skin of the hands will be softer and more elastic.

What to do if Shellac is chipped, and there are still .. days before the manicure?

Chips and detachments of the coating along the edges of the nail make me terribly angry. Of course, if Shellac started chipping off, then the easiest option is to remove the coating and paint your nails with regular varnish. But, as you understand, this joy is not available to everyone)) I, for example, as I did not know how to paint my nails with varnish on my own, I do not plan to study yet - nerves are dearer to me :)

There are several life hacks that can mask Shellac chips:
1) Paint a nail with a chip with a contrasting varnish and pretend that you have a Feng Shui manicure - no joke, this method has helped me out more than once!
2) Or use a dense glitter varnish with sparkles or particles of foil, which will mask the chip.
3) Or use craquelure varnish on top of Shellac, which will also mask the flaws.
4) Well, another option is to use stickers for express manicure. El Corazon has good ones.

Sometimes it makes sense to carry out manipulations on several nails, even those without chips, in order for the manicure to look harmonious.

By the way, if you also constantly cover your nails with gel polishes, rejoice at the chips, as an opportunity to heal your nails a little, give them a couple of days to rest from the gels and treat them with oil - you shouldn't. The fact is that in the few days that you will butter up the nails, the oil will have time to dig into the nail plate, and it will not be so easy to degrease it before applying the next portion of gel polish. Which will lead either to instability of the coating, or to an increased dose of a mega-harmful degreaser on the nails. But to remove the gel and cover the nails with medical varnish for a few days is quite an option!

Do I get bored with the same Shellac color in 1-2 weeks?

I usually go with one cover for about two weeks. And no, I don't get bored. Maybe I would like to match the color of the nails to the color of the clothes, but, to be honest, for this I have neither the time nor the desire to bother. Well, if I want variety, see the points above :) Thanks to the state of my nails, I often have to be creative))

Am I tired of the Shellac CND palette?

Honestly, I'm tired of it :) Therefore, I increasingly choose neutral or pastel shades. Or I look closely at the shades in new collections, if they were bought by masters in those beauty salons where I go. Well, or sometimes I choose gels of other brands.

How to diversify your Shellac manicure?

Yes, in different ways :) Just like a manicure with any other coating - decorate one or more nails with sparkles, sequins, foil or something else. It is recommended to apply the decor UNDER the Shellac finish coat.

Of course, you can do a "feng shui" manicure (damn it, show me the person who called him that!) Or a classic jacket. The scope for creativity is practically unlimited.

Do I give my nails a “rest” from Shellac

Once every 2-3 months my conscience begins to torment me, and then I give my nails a week or two of rest, promising myself to rub oil into my nails every day and often and cover them with medicinal enamels. In practice, this "rest" sometimes ends up sadly for the nails. Well, I have no time for shamanic dances with tambourines, hourly oil and daily enamels. And I break bare nails at the root and in my mood I can even gnaw. So the marigold vacation usually ends very quickly))

How much does Shellac coating cost?

I will not tell you for all of Odessa (C), but over the past years, Shellac nail coverage has definitely become more affordable. For example, I go for a manicure in 3 beauty salons in a very close-suburban city, all these salons are classified as "business class", the cost trim manicure with Shellac coating (namely CND Shellac) costs 1100 rubles in one, 1300 in the other, and 1400 in the third. The cost of removing gel polish ranges from zero rubles, with the next coating, to 350 rubles. These salons differ only in name and location. The composition and quality of services are approximately the same.

And, of course, if you still have other questions about the use of gel polishes - ask them in the comments!

Many people are faced with the problem that the gel polish, within a few days after application, exfoliates or comes off with a film, chips and cracks appear on it. Why doesn't gel polish stick to nails?

Based on the experience of masters of manicure, we have identified several reasons and mistakes due to which the gel polish does not stick to the nails.

Typical mistakes when applying gel polish

Of course, the first and main reason flaking and chipping are coating errors. It is quite possible that at one of the stages you missed or did not take into account some of the nuances.

1. Cuticle and pterygium are not completely removed. Before applying the base, you need to carefully push back the cuticle with an orange stick or a pusher and completely remove the pterygium. Otherwise, the gel polish will begin to flake off at the site of nail growth.

2. The nail is not polished enough. Be sure to use- this will improve the adhesion of the nail surface to the base.

3. The nail is not fat-free. Always wipe the nail plates with a degreaser. If you have “wet” and brittle nails, we recommend using a primer or ultrabond.

4. Too thick coating layer. Base, gel polish and top should always be applied in a thin layer.

5. The coatings are poorly dried. After each layer, it is necessary to dry the nails until they are completely dry. The time depends on the power of the lamp. After a few years of use, the lamp power decreases and it takes longer to dry.

6. The layers are not sealed. Such an error is guaranteed to lead to the detachment of the gel polish. You need to seal each layer:, and. This will significantly extend the durability of the manicure.

Other causes of gel polish peeling

In addition to the errors listed in the application, there are other reasons why the gel polish does not adhere well to the nails.

Sometimes it flakes off due to substandard products(for example, fakes) or because they have expired. Always choose proven bases, tops and gel polishes. And remember that not only coatings have a lifespan, but also UV / LED lamps - they need to be replaced in time.

Another reason is much less common than the previous ones. But still, some nails do not tolerate gel polish coating due to the individual characteristics of the body. Often the manicure does not hold due to hormonal changes, pregnancy, breastfeeding child, or in case of dysfunction of the thyroid gland. In this case, this is a reason to visit a doctor.

The durability of gel varnishes is designed for 2-4 weeks and depends on the individual characteristics of the owner of the nails: the state of the body, profession and lifestyle. How often do your hands touch the water? With constant contact with moisture, gel polish is unlikely to last longer than 2 weeks, and this is normal. Provided quality coverage professional means and respectful attitude, the durability of the manicure can be extended up to 4 weeks. The nails gradually grow back, a free zone appears at the cuticle, but the coating itself looks like new.

In most cases, gel polish is prone to chips due to a violation of the application technology. Purchasing proven, reliable products and following all the nail coating steps usually solves the problem once and for all.

Modern manicure is very different from the one that was done a couple of decades ago. Moreover, the difference lies not only in the types and shades of coatings, but also in the technique of their application. Especially in demand among modern women the so-called gel polish. The secret of its popularity lies in its amazing resilience. According to the manufacturers, it can last about four weeks. However, these statements do not always correspond to reality and it often happens that after a couple of days only memories remain from a fresh manicure. After reading today's post, you will find out why on the nails.

Wrong sock

This is one of the most common causes of flaking of a newly applied coating. Due to the carelessness and wrong actions of the owner of such a manicure, chips appear on it. Despite the fact that gel polish is positioned as a very resistant coating, in the process of wearing it, you should follow a few simple recommendations.

It is undesirable to expose it to prolonged exposure. high temperatures combined with moisture. So that you do not have a question why the gel polish is cracking, during the period of wearing it, you do not need to abuse visits to the sauna or solarium. The atmosphere reigning there can have a bad effect on the condition of the nail plate.

A negative reaction of gel polish is also noted when exposed to low temperatures. Therefore, in severe frosts, it is better to hide your hands in mittens or gloves. In addition to cracking, subzero temperatures can lead to flaking and tarnishing.

Serious loads and household chemicals

If you do not visit the sauna and do not expose your nails to low temperatures, but you still have a completely logical and natural question about why the gel polish at the ends is cracking, it will be useful for you to learn about another reason for this problem. This is often caused by an unreasonably high mechanical load. As a rule, owners of rather soft and flexible nails face a similar problem. In this case, even minor loads can provoke bending of the plate and cracking of the gel polish.

Also, the instability of the coating can be associated with constant interaction with household chemicals. To protect your hand skin and preserve your recent manicure, be sure to wear special gloves before starting household chores that involve the use of detergents or cleaning agents.

Application technology

If none of the above reasons are suitable in your situation, and the question of why the gel polish is cracking is still open, then it is likely that the rules for performing manicure have been violated. In order not to face a similar problem in the future, one must not neglect the preliminary preparation of the plate.

Before applying gel polish, it is advisable not to use nourishing and moisturizing hand creams. It is also important to thoroughly dry and degrease your nails. If a manicure is done at home and there is no professional dehydrator at hand, it can be replaced with rubbing alcohol or a nail polish remover made on the basis of acetone.

The next reason is considered to be insufficient treatment of the nail plate. First, it is filed with a buff. And only after that the edge is processed. Otherwise, notches will remain on the plate. So that later you do not have to be interested in why the gel polish coating is cracking, you must not neglect the sealing of each applied layer.

Unsatisfactory results can be obtained in the case of poor quality drying. Also, the smallest particles of debris that fall on the varnish lead to the appearance of cracks. Therefore, manicure should be done on a carefully tidy table. Too thin or too thick layer of varnish will not last long on nails.

Substandard materials

The use of low-grade products can also lead to the question of why the gel polish on the tips of the nails cracks. You shouldn't skimp on buying a base and a top. Always try to use expensive and high quality products. Experts recommend giving preference to brands issued by trusted manufacturers. It largely depends on how long your manicure will last.

So that later you do not have to be interested in why the top on gel polish is cracking, you need to avoid the so-called 2 in 1 products. They hold much worse on the nails and are more difficult to remove. Therefore, always try to purchase the base and top separately.

Health

Oddly enough, but the longevity of a manicure is influenced by the internal state of the body. Moreover, we are talking not only about the day of application of the coating, but also about the entire period of its wearing. For those who want to understand why gel polish cracks, it will probably be interesting that some physiological processes in the human body can perceive the applied coating as something foreign and requiring intense rejection. As a result, the manicure will not last as long as planned.

As a rule, cracking and peeling of gel polish occurs with hormonal disruptions, inflammation and infectious diseases. Also, the reason for the rapid deterioration of a recently done manicure can be a course of antibiotics.

Pregnancy

Hormonal stress associated with the happy expectation of being added to the family may be the reason why future mom the question arises as to why the gel polish on the nails cracks. Of course, during pregnancy, you should not completely abandon manicure. You just need to understand that the result may not be what you expected.

In addition, many pregnant women have experienced delayed or, conversely, with accelerated growth nails. In some expectant mothers, the plate thickened and strengthened, while in others it became weaker and thinner.

Why do nails crack under gel polish?

This coating is a complex chemical compound that contains hydralized collagen. It is “embedded” into the upper layers of the nail plate using ultraviolet light, which is very aggressive on skin cells.

Since the nail plate, long time located under a layer of gel polish is completely devoid of moisture and oxygen, gradually it begins to thin and exfoliate. It becomes more brittle and dry.

In addition, an aggressive solution is used in the process of removing gel polish. It is applied to the nails and covered with foil or a special impervious material. This also negatively affects the condition of the plate.

So that your hands always have a beautiful and healthy look, you need to stick to a few simple tips... The most important step is proper nutrition... So that you do not have a question about why the gel polish cracks even after such a manicure, make sure that healthy foods regularly appear in your diet. First of all, you need to eat foods rich in calcium. This can be cheese, fatty fish and chicken eggs.

Also, experts recommend that you systematically take vitamin and mineral complexes, which contain iron and zinc. Thanks to this, you will be able to minimize the damage caused to the nails by long-lasting manicure. As a result, they will become smooth, firm and firm.

After removing the gel polish, you can do gelatin masks and use remedies protein-based. In the morning and in the evening, it is advisable to rub olive or apricot oil into the cuticle. These are simple but very effective procedures will help restore the structure of the nail and reduce its fragility.

We hasten to upset you: if the manicure is cracked, it is not so perfect! In 99% of cases, the fault for a spoiled manicure lies with you. There are several main reasons why cracks can occur. Among them:

    Extreme wearing conditions

Violation of application technology

Most often, gel polish is chipped off as a result of a violation of the application technology. There are several main common mistakes that lead to this:

Poor quality degreasing. If you skip this step, the gel polish will not stick. Even shellac. Degreasing with the help of improvised means will not give the same effect as using a special liquid. The only thing you can try to replace it with is alcohol or a nail polish remover with acetone. Neither vodka nor simple acetone-free liquids are suitable. You need to thoroughly degrease the entire nail plate.

Poor nail treatment. Inexperienced use of a nail file or buff (a special cube file for polishing) leads to the formation of chipping on the nail plate. As a result, the gel polish lays down unevenly and then chipped off.

Lack of attention to detail. Many craftsmen (especially hobbyists) overlook the need to seal layers, such as the finish. Remember a simple rule: for gel polish, the smallest details of the application process are critical.

You can spare the funds and do very thin layers, but you can hurry up and, conversely, type too much gel polish on the brush. Both inevitably lead to cracks. Over time, you will get better at it and learn to determine the required amount of this or that remedy intuitively.

Your workplace should always be clean. Even microscopic particles of face powder, dust or nail filings (this is the white dust that remains after nail file treatment) caught among the layers can cause cracks.

That is, most likely the problem is in your poor quality work... If you are confident in your professionalism, you may have made a mistake while wearing gel polish.

Extreme wearing conditions

Extreme wearing conditions are not always associated with rock climbing or other traumatic activity. In fact, in ordinary life there are a lot of restrictions for extending the lifespan of a manicure. It is enough to make a single mistake when leaving and cracks can no longer be avoided.

A manicure should not be exposed to high temperatures, as well as prolonged contact with moist air. Both the nails extended with biogel and gel polish do not like this. If you want to quickly get rid of a manicure, listen to this point and go to a Russian bath.

Frequent contact with water is generally contraindicated for gel polish. If you shower frequently, work with liquids, or wash your hands constantly (for example, you are a doctor), the manicure will not last the promised several weeks.

Shocks, friction and other mechanical stress will inevitably damage the coating.

Low temperatures are also bad for the structure of gel polish. Therefore, in winter, the owners of such a manicure should not neglect mittens and gloves.

Even contact with household chemicals can lead to cracks. Therefore, rubber gloves should be worn when cleaning.

If among these factors you did not find the reasons for the appearance of chips on your manicure, perhaps you still belong to the third category.

Reasons beyond your control

Sometimes gel polish can chip off for reasons beyond your control. This category of factors can include:

    Infections

    Metabolic disease

    Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract

    Hypovitaminosis

And other reasons that lead to thinning and weakness of the nail plate.

That is, the gel polish procedure, no matter how good it is for strengthening healthy nails, is contraindicated for problem plates. Extension should not be done on nails prone to delamination and fragility.

In this case, the only acceptable procedure is biogel strengthening. But it should be carried out only after consulting a doctor or at least an experienced master manicurist.

Chips on gel polish very often appear in pregnant women. This is not to say that it is generally contraindicated for them to paint their nails (which we wrote about in our other article). It is just that during pregnancy there are changes in hormonal background... Hormones affect the entire body, including skin, hair and nails. nail plates can become denser or brittle, grow faster or slower. Therefore, it is impossible to accurately predict the reaction of nails to a particular procedure.

There are many reasons for the appearance of cracks and chips on gel polish. You can only guess what went wrong this time.

But if chips and cracks have become a tradition, it may be because of low-quality materials. Purchase gel polishes only from trusted suppliers. Choose popular firms that are often found at the craftsmen.

Also, check the functionality of your lamp. It is likely that she is running out of work. It can even be limited to 3000 hours (for some UV lamps).

Consider all the factors listed in the article and try to follow the technology in the process of creating a manicure. Take good care of your nails to keep the finish longer.

The beauty of your hands depends only on you.
