For a long time, I considered shadows the best tool for eyebrows. Exactly until last fall, when I met eyebrow gel JUST make up BrowGel.

I always shape my eyebrows with a pencil. For some reason, hands have not yet reached the shadows and pomade for eyebrows. And the extra hassle with several means at once is not for me. With a pencil, everything is very simple, fast, and the result is more than satisfactory to me.
I have already tried many different pencils and in the end settled on ARTDECO, I have been using it for a year and a half.
I had a chance to try 2 shades # 3 and # 6. No. 3 - warm fair-haired with a slight reddish tint, not quite what I need. But number 6 is my ideal, it is better not to find a shade. Perfect dark blond with ash, but not gray, but very natural and without a shimmer (yes, there is such a misunderstanding in eyebrow pencils). It's just a 100% hit for me. The quality is great too!
ARTDECO eyebrow pencil has one significant drawback for me - there is no brush in the kit and you need to look for something additionally for shading. In general, this manufacturer has pencils with a brush included, but they are much more expensive, and the shades are different there. An offensive defect, a little annoying, but this nuisance can be easily overcome - I just took a convenient brush from another eyebrow pencil, she is like my own with him.
One pencil lasts for about 2.5 months with daily use.
My eyebrows are not thick at all, but I like my shape, so I use the pencil just to highlight and emphasize the eyebrows a little.
I don't like very bright, greasy (felt-tip) and unnatural eyebrows at all, I like neat and natural eyebrows that look organic on the face. With this pencil, this is easily and quickly achieved: I just trace the eyebrow along the contour (not putting too much pressure on the lead), sometimes I do a couple more strokes at the break, and then I thoroughly blend everything with a brush. I never paint over an entire eyebrow. And this is what happens:
At first it may seem that the pencil is too soft, but then for some reason this feeling disappears. It sharpens without problems, does not break or fray.
The firmness is excellent, he survived the frost and heat on my face. By the way, it lasts all day, does not flow, except that the intensity by the end of the day is no longer the same as immediately after application, but the eyebrows still look good. In general, if you do not rub your eyebrows, then they will stay with you until the very end. Until victorious, of course.
Eyebrows are everything to me. I practically never leave the house with "not shaped" eyebrows - either a habit plays a role here, or something else, but this is really so. More or less even tone of the face, beautiful eyebrows, and now you already look like a decent person. :)
For me it has always been and remains the most easy way eyebrow shaping with a pencil. It's just that the shadows are not enough for me (considering that my eyebrows are quite bald, and I literally have to draw the whole shape), and I have not yet had time to get acquainted with various pomade and eyebrow gels (but I really dream). A pencil is always versatile, but the most important and difficult task is to find the "correct" color. I, as it seems to me, found it in a pencil from Eva Mosaic with a practically speaking name "Ideal Brow" in the middle of the presented shades "Brown Eyes".
He is quite neutral and, most importantly, without the nasty reddishness. The pencil itself is just an excellent student and especially pleases me in terms of price / quality ratio. It has the right hardness - not too soft to leave lumps and crumble, and not too hard to discolor and scratch the skin. Pencil "Ideal Brow" is devoid of all these drawbacks. It is very economical and can be sharpened easily with a regular cosmetic sharpener.
Unless the eyebrow brush on the back of the pencil is quite stiff - I'm used to blending the right places with it, but this particular brush does not do the job well, so I use another. Otherwise, this pencil is a good workhorse for a very reasonable price (about 220 rubles).
How did we ever live without all those eyebrow things? Now it's even hard to imagine ... I've always liked fluffy, wide eyebrows and it's great that there are so many different products on the market now, there is plenty to choose from. I try and use a variety of pencils, gels, and fondants. But for our article, I selected those that are easiest to use, do not require special skills and are suitable even for beginners.
Artdeco Soft Kajal Liner. All brands now have entire collections with different eyebrow products, but my perfect pencil is for the eyes. (This is some kind of special series of soft soft pencils from Artdeco). Which is strange, because it is impossible to draw arrows or an outline for them. It gives no color, only a hint of tint and shade. But for eyebrows it suits perfectly.
You don't even need to shade it, the swatch shows how softly and translucently it lays down with normal pressure. I also have an Artdeco eyebrow pencil, many of our bloggers praised it and I was not disappointed either, but still this Soft Kajal Liner remains a favorite. It is very easy for them to tint the eyebrows, give them a shape, add color, without fear of overkill or clear sharp boundaries. And my shade 12 dimgray is great for these purposes, it is gray with a drop of cool brown, no reddish or reddishness. Unfortunately, there are few shades, and not all are suitable for eyebrows, but this color is universal and "correct", not all specialized eyebrow pencils can be found this way.
L "etual ID eyebrow wax... This wax is also my irreplaceable assistant, I am buying it for the 3rd or 4th time, and I haven’t found anything to replace it with. Or maybe you shouldn't look for an analogue for it, Letuali is everywhere, so this wax is easy to find and buy, and its price is more than humane (about 350 rubles).
It should suit those who have their own nice eyebrows and just need to style them beautifully and add a little color. The main advantages of this wax: 1) it is tinted and gives a little color and volume to the hairs, 2) it is in a comfortable pencil form. It takes literally 2-3 minutes to apply it on the eyebrows and style them with a brush. There will be no unpleasant adhesion and damp shine like from many gels. Will medium fixation and light toning, just what you need for a natural daytime make-up.
In my shade 202 courbe is a translucent gray-brown color, optimal for those with dark eyebrows.

I just can't help but note the durability of the Dipbrow Pomade. Throughout the day, it stays in place, does not fade at all, does not spread and does not fall into the pores.
Usually I use pomade for more "solemn" occasions, but for quick daily makeup I prefer eyebrow gels. My favorites are Sleek Brow Perfector, Art-Visage Fix & Care and Essence Make me Brow.
Gel for eyebrows and eyelashes Art-Visage Fix & Care is very comfortable, it is absolutely not felt on the eyebrows, at the same time it fixes them just perfectly. Perfect in everything except appearance... After several applications, from contact with other makeup products, the gel begins to cloud and darken, which is clearly visible through the transparent walls of the bottle. For me, this factor is not critical, so I plan to buy the gel in the future. The cost is only 150 rubles.
If I need a “reinforced concrete” eyebrow fixation, then I choose Sleek Brow Perfector gel. It is felt on the eyebrows for a long time, which at first brings me a little discomfort. But after complete hardening, you can be 100% sure that the shape given to the eyebrows will hold out in its original form until the very make-up remover. The cost is about 600 rubles.
"Before and after" with Essence eyebrow gel
I bought Essence Make me Brow tint eyebrow gel not so long ago, but I already had time to evaluate it in action. The gel allows you to quickly style the eyebrows, fixes well (especially if applied in two layers), and also gives a light, natural shade and slightly paints the gaps between the hairs. The result is more expressive than with previous gels, the eyebrows look fuller and more defined. I will definitely repeat the purchase. The cost is 250 rubles.
Despite the fact that I tint my eyebrows every day (although I can't say that I really need it), I still don't have a favorite remedy.
For a long time I used the Essence set of shadows, then I wanted to get acquainted with such a product as eyebrow lipstick - I don't like eyebrow pencils from the word at all. Without thinking twice, I turned to my favorite NYX brand and ordered Tame & frame Tinted Brow Pomade in 03 Brunette. Opening the package, I was somewhat surprised by the shade - it turned out to be lighter than I expected and very warm. In principle, I have a warm color type, so this is not critical for me, but nevertheless I wanted a more neutral eyebrow product, and this lipstick sometimes even goes into greenery.
But everything would be fine - you can use it, but the lipstick dried up very quickly! I always close the lid, and when I work, I turn the jar upside down, minimizing the intake of air, but in this case, this life hack did not work, alas.
Without thinking twice, I added Inglot to the Duraline product. It helped for a while, but the lipstick quickly dried out again. I tried to "paint" just like that, dried out, but it didn't work: Tinted Brow Pomade began to crumble, reluctantly typing on the brush. In general, continuous frustration. So I continue to periodically dilute the already completely dry lipstick with Duralain, quietly to myself the day when I decided to try this particular product.
A few words about the good: lipstick is very persistent! It will not creep away, will not be imprinted, and will be in place right up to the makeup remover. And when the lipstick has a more plastic consistency, eyebrow shaping takes a few seconds: once or twice - and you're done. The cost is 590 rubles.
The second product I use to style my eyebrows is the famous Maybelline Color Tattoo shade in the equally famous shade No. 40 Permanent Taupe.
For more than one year they have been known in the blogosphere precisely as a successful product for eyebrow shaping, although for a long time I was skeptical about this idea: I remind you that I have a warm color type, and this taupe on me is clearly cold, not neutral. But once I decided to try it and ... I really liked using the shadows in this way, because on my eyebrows they give the desired shade that suits me completely. In addition, Color Tattoo does not dry as much as NYX lipstick - it is clear that lately I have been reaching out to them more and more often. The cost is 400 rubles.
In spite of everything, I really want to try the brow legend - Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow lipstick. Hope it feels more flexible than NYX Tame & frame.

I have repeatedly written about makeup, dyeing and eyebrow correction, now I want to talk about decorative cosmetics for eyebrows, or rather - about its types.
Pencils, eye shadows, powder, dry lipstick and even mascara - and these are just cosmetics for home use. The choice is so great that even if you do not know how to draw straight lines at all, and the color of your hair, for which you are choosing cosmetics for eyebrows, is some completely unusual, you will still find the option that suits you.

How to choose. The eyebrow pencil should be firm enough not to create the effect of a felt-tip pen, but to apply translucent lines. The shade should be natural (usually gray-brown). When choosing a color, you need to take into account the color of the hair, but you should not immediately define a black pencil under black hair. This can overwhelm your makeup and add age. Better to choose dark gray or dark brown. Blondes also do not need to darken their eyebrows, just emphasize the shape with a light pencil. As for the brand and the availability of additions (such as a brush), it all depends on your convenience and finances.
How to use. Now in fashion wide eyebrows with a fairly clear outline closer to the tail and with feathering closer to the bridge of the nose, smoothly tapering off at the head. With a sharp pencil, draw lines along the upper and lower edges of the eyebrows, connecting them on the ponytail. Filling the outline thin lines along the hairs of the eyebrows. We shade thoroughly, giving Special attention the head of the eyebrow. To make the contour clearer, we emphasize it with a light pencil or corrector from the bottom and top of the eyebrow borders.
Advantages. Even without being labeled "waterproof", the brow pencil lasts great throughout the day. It can be purchased at any beauty store. The prices for eyebrow pencils vary from less than 100 rubles to a completely indefinite amount, depending on the brand. However, I did not notice the difference in using expensive and cheap pencils.
Disadvantages. Not all of us can draw. With a pencil, you can do both better and ruin everything if you overdo it. In addition, the drawn eyebrows are still visible at close range.
Powder (shadows, dry lipstick) for eyebrows. A fairly common make-up item, especially among those who like to use makeup brushes.
How to choose. First of all - by color. Just like a pencil. But it is worth remembering that, unlike a hard pencil, shadows can go softer, denser, and therefore brighter. The color should be neutral. If you choose not from special means for eyebrows, namely eye shadow, take a look at the matte shades of beige palette, which are used for smoky ice.
How to use. You will need an angled brush that is thin and stiff enough. With powder or shadows, you can either create a clear shape (just like with a pencil), or shade slightly, create a blurred background that will look less expressive, but more natural.
Advantages. More shades than eyebrow pencils. If, for example, you have red hair, and you want the same red eyebrows, then in the palette of pencils you will not find anything but brown, but in the shadows color palette practically unlimited. Firmness is also often pleasing, in the hairs of the eyebrows the shadows hold much better than on a wet and mobile eyelid.
Disadvantages. Brush application. If you threw shadows into the cosmetic bag, but did not take a brush, then you will not be able to correct the eyebrow makeup somewhere other than at home. In addition, shadow application, although simpler, does not look very good on rare thin eyebrows (like mine).
Eyebrow mascara. This is a relatively new tool. Until recently, some girls used ordinary mascara for this purpose, which looked bulky and unnatural. Now cosmetics manufacturers offer a lot of mascara options specifically for eyebrows, suitable shades, with a comfortable brush.
How to choose. For price, durability and, of course, color. Similar products are available both in luxury brands and in the mass market.
How to use. Apply on the eyebrows with a brush in the direction of hair growth, like ordinary mascara. In this case, one part of the product colors the eyebrow hairs, while the other falls on the skin, creating a light shadow.
Advantages. Mascara dyes the hairs, and even if they differ in color from what you want to dye your eyebrows, there will be no noticeable difference between your own and the drawn one. Another huge plus of this tool is that it replaces the eyebrow gel. After application, the mascara dries out for a few minutes and fixes the hairs. This is ideal for those whose eyebrows do not grow neatly side by side, but stick out in different directions (like mine).
Disadvantages. You will not achieve a clear outline with mascara, especially if your eyebrows are thin and sparse, like mine, and there is not much to dye in them. In addition, it is still mascara, and if water gets on it, it can flow. She will withstand a little rain, but you should not swim in the river or the sea with her. Another drawback is that not all cosmetic brands have such a product. Therefore, you will have to spend time looking for it, if you already decided to use mascara for eyebrows.
Eyebrow marker. Remember how in childhood you drew on yourself with a felt-tip pen? I don't know about you, but I painted. So, now this is a trend, and cosmetic companies are vying with each other to release eyebrow markers.
How to choose. Mostly in terms of price and color. Their durability is about the same, in any case, I did not find a difference. In the photo - L'Etoile eyebrow marker.
How to use. Like a pencil - apply color to the skin with a thin brush, first the outline, then filling.
Advantages. The brush is very convenient for dyeing between the hairs of the eyebrow and for bringing out a clear outline. No sharpening required. Such a marker is enough for a long time.
Disadvantages. Contrary to expectations, an eyebrow highlighter cannot be called super-resistant. If you do not touch your eyebrows, it will last all day, but the skin constantly secretes fat, and by the end of the day it is enough just to run your finger along the eyebrows to make the contour "float". It will not be completely erased, but there will be no clarity.
