Work progress:

Stage 1

Cut out all the necessary elements according to the template. Repeating elements must be symmetrical. We glue all the small felt parts to the large ones with glue, or we baste them with a contrasting thread. It is important that all repeating elements are at the same distance from the edges of large parts. This is necessary so that the toy looks neat.

Stage 2

We begin to sew small details with a single white thread, performing vertical stitches.

Then you can begin to connect the front and back parts of the toy together, starting with the ears. Using a needle with a single red thread, we begin to make stitches (the first one is from the inside out), bringing the game back and inserting it into the same place as the first time, thus making a neat loop around the two elements of the future ear of the toy. The needle is inserted into the loop and then tightened.

Now we make the next stitch at an equal distance from the edge of the fabric, creating another loop. We insert the needle into it again, tighten the thread, thus obtaining overlock stitch. We sew the entire eyelet with this seam, and the last seam must be inserted into the first. To make it easier for novice craftsmen to understand, it is better to look at step-by-step photographs.

We perform the same manipulations with the second ear, after which we sweep the finished ears to the front of the head of the future felt fox.

Stage 3

Draw eyes and a mouth on the white muzzle. We begin to carefully embroider the eyes from the inside with double black thread, moving to the front. The first stitch is made in such a way that the needle returns to the very beginning, after which the stitch is tightened. All subsequent stitches are made in the same way, the main thing is that the forming loop is always on top - above the thread and needle. At the end you can make an eyelash. The second eye and mouth are embroidered using the same principle. Already at this stage you can draw the fox’s cheeks.

Stage 4

Time to sew together the large parts of the head. First, it is better to baste the front and back of the toy’s head with a contrasting thread. After this, you can begin covering with an overlock stitch. As before, we will need an orange single thread. When the seams reach the ear, it is necessary to insert a needle and thread onto the back side so that the distance to the edge on both the front and back sides is the same (the needle must pass through the ear inside).

We insert the needle directly into the eye - into the place directly above the point where the needle and thread came out. From the front, the needle will also eventually come out in the eye directly above its original location. Insert a needle into the resulting loop and tighten. You will get a seam like this, which should look like an overcast stitch. We cover the entire muzzle, leaving room for stuffing.

Stage 5

It's time to stuff top part cute felt toy. In this case, a sushi stick, a pencil or a special device will be useful. You need to stuff the head of the toy evenly, not too tightly, giving it a soft volume.

Stage 6

The next step is to create a ponytail. First, you need to sew a black tassel to the end of the ponytail with a single black thread, without sewing the sides of the end of the ponytail, but only sewing a “zigzag”. After this, the front and back parts of the ponytail are sewn to each other using the already familiar overlock stitch with orange thread.

The place of the black tip is stitched from the inside, since the black tip will need to be stitched on top with black thread, using the same method as when covering the rest of the felt toy. The opposite end of the tail remains open - it is needed for stuffing with synthetic fluff. After the tail is evenly padded, it is sewn to the body parts using contrasting thread.

Stage 7

Then the back and front parts of the body are sewn to each other using an overlock stitch, leaving the neck area open. We distribute the padding evenly over the body, after which the hole is sewn up with an overcast stitch.

Stage 8

Now that the two main parts of the felt toy are completely ready, they need to be sewn together. To sew them to each other neatly and beautifully, you can line up the depression on the chanterelle’s chest - the animal’s nose and mouth should be located right above it.

Now, using a needle with a double orange thread, we begin to sew the parts together. First you need to insert a needle into the lower part of the head, 3-4 mm from the edge, as in the photo, approximately at the level of the middle of the eye. The needle is then passed through the edge of the body - at the same distance - resulting in a hidden seam. It is necessary to stitch the head and body to the opposite end of the neck, tightening the seams tightly. This is how the front front part is stitched.

To securely fasten both parts, you need to stitch them again, but in a more careful way. Now that the needle is on the opposite edge of the neck, you need to stitch the back of the head. However, you first need to pierce the body from the front side, and only after that remove the needle from the back of the head. We continue stitching according to this pattern so that the threads are not visible at all (see photo). The little felt fox is ready!

  • Cheerful owl

Very popular toys There are cute fairy-tale owls made from felt - they are not difficult to make, and in the process you can even change some elements of the product according to your discretion and taste. Templates for work:

Work progress:

Advice! Use for sewing parts hand stitch“forward with the needle”, making the same neat stitches and skips.

We sew the colored fabric onto the felt blanks for future wings forward with a needle. The knot can be hidden between the fabric and felt. To keep the fabric in one place during the creation of the toy, it is better to secure it with a pin.

Stage 2

In order for the owl to turn out as planned, you need to place the parts according to the template. We attach the gray oval eyes to the future body of the owl with pins, and then sew them on. The distance between the eyes and from the edges of the body should be 0.5 cm. After this, we finalize the eyes - we sew on two other parts.

We also sew two brown triangles onto the ears.

We attach a colored belly to the owl, and sew on the beak and paws on top. The back of the owl's body should be replenished with a tail, according to the template.

Advice! Children who want to help make a toy can glue pieces of multi-colored material, after which the needlewoman can sew them on with even, beautiful stitches.

Stage 3

The front and back parts of the body are applied to each other. Between them, according to the diagram, ready-made wings are inserted, all this is secured with pins. We begin to sew the toy from the bottom of the right wing, passing in a circle to the bottom of the left wing. The remaining space is used for stuffing.

We fill the toy with padding polyester, but not to capacity! It is important that the design and seams are not distorted at the end of the work. The hole is sewn up, the pins are removed from the wings. The felt toy is ready. To avoid difficulties in the process, you can see step-by-step photos.

  • Peppa Pig on magnets

  6. Neodymium magnets - optional.

Templates for work:

Work progress:

Stage 1

You need to print out the template, cut out the pattern of all the parts of the future toy from felt. We transfer the outline of the paper models onto the material using a pencil or felt-tip pen, and cut out parts from felt.

Stage 2

We cut out pockets for magnets and sew them to the inside of the back of the pig’s body and head, insert 1 cm magnets there and sew up the holes.

Stage 3

We sew a nose, a bright pink cheek, eyes to the face, and then use thread to mark the toy’s mouth.

We put both parts of the body together, put the legs, tail, arms in the middle, sew them together, leaving a hole in the neck area. We don't send there large number padding polyester, after which we sew up the hole.

Then we overlap the head onto the dress, leaving a small hole for the padding polyester. Having stuffed it too, we sew up the last hole. The felt toy is ready! Thanks to step by step photos, the process of creating Peppa will go wherever faster.

We sew both parts of the toy together using a simple buttonhole stitch. When the sewing reaches the neck, you can immediately sew a ribbon pendant and a festive ribbon onto the neck.

When it remains to sew up the tummy, first fill the toy with filler, distributing it evenly. Then we stitch the hole. You can sew a funny pompom in place of the ponytail.

Stage 2

We sew the two parts of the star into one, leaving a little space for stuffing. Fill it evenly, then sew up the last hole.

Stage 3

Sew beads to the stars. For convenience, you can do this before both parts of the star are sewn together - if desired.

Stage 4

  • Garland-pigtail

Another beautiful and simple “toy” made of felt that will definitely change the mood of all the inhabitants of the house for the better is a two-color braided garland. This type of decoration is easy to make, and most importantly, you don’t need to waste time filling the toy and sewing around the edges

Materials:

  1. Felt of any holiday colors;
  2. Scissors, stationery knife;
  3. Needle, thread, pins;
  4. Pencil.

Work progress:

We cut out strips of the same size from two sheets of felt of different colors (length 25 cm, width as desired). We fasten two multi-colored strips together with pins at the top and bottom.

Then, in the middle of the double strip, two cuts are made with a stationery knife (as in the photo). After this, we make a “pigtail” pattern: we thread the end of the double strip closest to it into the upper slit, and then the strip is threaded into the second slit.

Now you can make a garland from several ready-made “braids” by sewing them all together. Or you can leave it in short form hanging around the house.

Educational for children

Educational toys made of felt are a very popular trend, since even novice craftsmen and needlewomen can sew such products on their own, and there are many options for such toys - for the most different ages and children's interests. Patterns will help you make educational and educational toys from felt.

Do-it-yourself educational felt toys are made according to the same principle as other types of felt products. Here are some photo ideas with useful development tools.

  • Felt puzzles “In the animal world”

Bright two-piece puzzles with cute animal faces are sure to attract a child. This way you can start teaching your child in a playful way. Let's take a closer look at how to make such an educational game out of felt with your own hands.

Work progress:

Stage 1

On a sheet of paper, mark 12x12 cm squares using a ruler and pencil. The result should be 10 squares. Then we print out animal patterns and cut them out on paper.

Stage 2

We trace the animal patterns, pre-attached to the material with a pin, on felt bright colors. Muzzles and paws are made in two copies, the second copy will “mirror” the first. We cut out all the outlined parts with scissors or a stationery knife. This creates a ready-made basis for creative work.

Stage 3

Our patterns with rectangles can be turned into puzzle patterns by drawing something like a “castle” in the middle. Now you can cut out one of the shaped halves and attach it to the rectangle, trace it and cut it out. We do the same with another bright rectangle, which is intended for the back of the puzzle.

Stage 4

After this, we select one of the animal blanks, apply it to the front double part of the future puzzle, and select the most suitable place for the animal. Sew the top part to one of the front halves of the puzzle using simple stitches. It is important to first make an indent from the edge of the background of the puzzle, leaving space for connecting stitches between the bases.

Stage 5

Now the half of the puzzle with the animal is turned over in order to cut off the desired half of the animal along its contour. We attach part of the body to the bottom base of the puzzle and sew it in accordance with the edges of the contours. At this stage, the animal needs to sew on light details of the muzzle and body, which are cut off according to the same principle as the body.

Stage 6

We sew the front and back parts of the puzzle together using regular stitches, hiding the knot between the pieces. We sew on the animal’s nose and paws, glue on eyes or sew on beads. We use the same principle with all other puzzles.

A wonderful game for kids that teaches the colors of animals, and it will also help you look creatively at big world small eyes. Making it couldn't be easier: the game doesn't require much skill or artistic education—the simpler the better. This felt toy is suitable for babies over one year old.

Work progress:

Stage 1

You need to take six single-color sheets of felt of the same size, first draw 6 simple animal figures on paper, cut them out and transfer them to felt with a pencil. Then you need to cut out these ovals and primitive images of animals with a stationery knife.

Stage 2

Next, we should cut out several triangles, ovals and circles from bright felt sheets for the ears and heads of our future animals. You can buy eyes in special stores, or you can also cut out circles or beads. All this needs to be glued to large sheets felt, or sew on by hand (for small children it is better to choose the option of sew on by hand, because they put everything in their mouth).

Stage 3

Now we need to take care of making “fur coats” for our home zoo. Here it is better to use bright, interesting felt colors to attract the baby’s attention with them. You will only have to work on four coats: a zebra, a cow, a fish and a giraffe. We cut out simple stripes or spots for our fur coats and sew them to the background sheets of felt.

You can make completely different things from a material like felt. We invite you to learn how to make your own patterns and various toys. Pictures of products and step-by-step master classes are attached.

Felt crafts - DIY patterns

Various felt toys and dolls are made quite easily, because they consist of a minimum of parts that are very easily sewn together.

As for the pattern itself, even if you don’t have one, it’s not difficult to make it yourself. However, it is not necessary to have artistic skills. The picture below is an example of a felt craft. Do-it-yourself patterns in this case consist of the following elements:

  • body;
  • eyes (two pieces);
  • pupils (two pieces);
  • beak;
  • wings (two pieces).

If you cannot draw the details individually at once, then make a sketch of the future toy as a whole, and then divide it into elements.

DIY felt dolls

A master class on how to make toy princesses will help you master this simple craft:

  1. Take scraps of felt of different colors, scissors, a marker or pencil, thread and a needle, some cotton wool, and a pattern.
  2. You will need a main pattern (Illustration 2) and one additional pattern (Illustration 3), which shows the details for a specific princess. For example, if you are making a Little Mermaid, then her distinguishing features are her hair, tail and top.
  3. Cut out all pattern pieces with scissors.
  4. Attach the paper parts to felt of the corresponding color (for example, the body is a beige shade) and trace them.
  5. Cut out the parts, stepping back a little from the edges. Remember that there should be two of each element from the main pattern, and a pair of additional elements is needed only for a suit (dress).
  6. Sew the two body and head pieces together, leaving a small opening.
  7. Stuff cotton wool inside the pieces so that the dolls are not too flat.
  8. Sew the head and body together.
  9. Sew hair and bangs onto the head from the front side.
  10. Sew the suit (dress) onto the body on both sides.
  11. Sew or glue with a glue gun onto front side dolls are the remaining decorative elements of the outfit and hairstyle.
  12. Make a face.

Your DIY felt doll is ready!

Felt bear

In order to make cute felt toys, you don’t always need a large number of colored scraps. Sometimes just a couple of pieces are enough. For example, to sew a charming bear, you only need two pieces of felt in brown and red colors.

Sequence of work on sewing felt crafts:

  1. It is not necessary to make patterns with your own hands in a specific example. You can immediately draw the outline of the future toy on the fabric. There will be only three parts: a head, a body and a small heart.
  2. Cut out two parts of the head and body from felt.
  3. On the front part of the body, sew a heart in the left area above the paw.
  4. Sew pairs of parts together, leaving a small hole for stuffing.
  5. Using a wooden stick, stuff the parts of the toy with cotton wool or other filler (for example, padding polyester). There is no need to stuff a lot into the craft, it should only be a little bulky. Instead of a stick, you can use a pencil or brush.
  6. Sew the head to the body so that the chin is on the main part of the toy (as in the picture above).
  7. The muzzle and outline of the paws can be drawn with a marker or stitched with satin stitch threads.

The cute little bear is ready! This toy can be made not only for a child, but also as a gift to a friend for Valentine's Day!

Volume cats

You can also do the usual voluminous toys from felt. For example, to make such wonderful cats, you will need to take the following tools and materials:

  • multi-colored felt (one main color and small scraps of additional shades);
  • wide tape;
  • thread and needle;
  • scissors;
  • filler (cotton wool, padding polyester, foam rubber, etc.).

Master class on making toys:

  1. Take a large piece of felt and cut out two identical ovals from it, reminiscent of the shape of a pear.
  2. From a piece of the same color, cut out two identical circles. They should be half the size of the previous parts.
  3. Now you have the parts for the torso and head.
  4. Cut out four rounded triangles. These will be the ears.
  5. Sew the paired parts of the body, head and ears together, leaving a small hole in each component of the toy.
  6. Stuff the body and head tightly with the filler. And place a thin layer of cotton wool in your ears. Make the bottom of the part responsible for the cat’s body more even so that the toy can stand on its own.
  7. Sew the body, head and ears together.
  8. Cut out flowers and leaves from multi-colored felt, and then sew them onto the cat’s belly.
  9. Embroider the cat's face and tie a ribbon around its neck.

The charming toy is ready! If you wish, you can sew the legs and tail in the same way as you did the head and body.

Felt piggy bank

Almost every child has a piggy bank. But when the time comes, it becomes a pity to break it. Therefore, children can sew a wonderful felt piggy bank, from which it is very easy to get coins.

To do this, you will need to take a piggy bank pattern, felt, scissors, a needle and thread, and a marker. Next steps:

  1. Transfer the pattern onto the fabric and cut out two identical elements.
  2. Sew a rectangle on one piece, and make a cut inside it (Illustration 2).
  3. Sew the two pieces together.

The piggy bank is ready!

hand toy

Another master class - a felt monkey for hand:

  1. Make a pattern. To do this, trace your hand on a piece of paper. Draw an even outline, add paws and ears. Separately draw the outline of the muzzle and belly, as well as the inner parts of the ears and the areas of the toes.
  2. Cut out the pattern pieces.
  3. Attach all the elements to the felt, trace them and cut them out. Remember that there should be two main parts (body with legs), as well as centers for the ears and areas with toes. The belly and muzzle are in a single copy.
  4. Take one body part and sew everything on it additional elements: areas of the muzzle, belly, inner part of the ears and fingers.
  5. Sew the two body pieces together.
  6. Make a face.

The felt monkey mitten is ready!

If desired, you can make a tail for the toy. To do this from wool threads make a pigtail and place the wire inside. Attach the resulting tail to the craft.

Paper dolls are already a thing of the past. We played with them, cutting out more and more outfits with “ears” in order to bend them over the shoulders and waist of the doll and admire beautiful princess. Now girls have a lot more toys and dolls, so paper fashionistas are no longer relevant. But handicraft mothers are able to please their little ones with felt dolls! These dolls self made are now becoming very popular all over the world. You can make a few of these too!

The main principle of such a doll answers the question “Why felt?” And indeed, these dolls are made from felt for a reason: this material is fibrous, so Velcro sticks to it well. Accordingly, Velcro should be attached to the back of the clothes so that you can dress the doll by attaching clothes to it.

There is another great idea for such a doll with a removable wardrobe. This time, the idea is a gift. You can sew a portable house in which the doll “lives” and its many clothes are stored.

Look: on one side of the book house there is the doll’s living room, and on the other there is her dressing room with a chest of drawers. It’s interesting that the dresses hang on embroidered hangers. So the baby will get accustomed to order and know exactly where to hang her dresses.

The house itself is made very beautifully: every flower on it is skillfully executed.

Each of the dolls has a large selection of clothes. The dress comes in different colors, so the dolls will definitely get outfits to suit their taste! To make it more interesting for a girl to play, make dolls with different hair colors: blonde and brunette, for example. Naturally, if your little princess is red-haired, she will be pleased to receive the same doll as a gift.

Don't forget about the boy! The girl doll will also be friends with him! By developing a correct understanding of human relationships from early childhood, you will give your child a big bonus for life! So make a boy out of felt and sew him shorts and T-shirts.

And here's another one original version. Here the doll can change not only her outfits, but also her hairstyles! What can we say about shoes: she has several pairs of sandals different styles! You can place such a set in a box covered with felt: attach the doll to one side of the box, and her wardrobe and hairstyles to the other.

It would be interesting to make dolls that would look more real. It's all about the position of your hands: you can bend them, put one hand on your waist. All this needs to be done on the pattern in order to cut out the finished doll in the desired position. Regarding the choice of clothes, do not get hung up on one style: make your baby a whole wardrobe of clothes different eras. Then the toy will become very exciting!

This is the pattern you can use to create a felt doll. Simply fold the arms and legs in half and sew, and cut out the head and torso in duplicate. They will also need to be flashed.

Felt (from the French Feutre - felt, from the Turkic - blanket) is a non-woven material that is obtained by felting fluff or thin hair hares, rabbits or goats, fine wool, as well as fur waste. This is almost the very first material that people began to make. Even in the Neolithic, the nomads of Central Asia felted wool and sewed their yurts and rough clothes from it. Such material was unusually beneficial and did not require any special equipment other than water and human hands. Well... still a monstrous amount of time and labor. When a variety of fabrics appeared, felt lost its popularity. But recently the situation has changed dramatically - exactly the opposite. Felt began to be used famous designers, making jewelry and bags from it.

The mystery of felt is that it contains the properties of fabric, wood and paper - any thickness, density, color, it is light and durable, easy to use, easy to cut and glue.

In fact, calling felt felt is not entirely correct, since felt is a type of felt. Although in foreign languages no one divides them into two different matters, but calls them one word.

What can you make from felt? Anything! All kinds of jewelry, bags, decorative elements for clothes, toys, pillows, pincushions, slippers, boxes, decorative elements for dishes, lampshades, coasters, curtains...

And here are 7 master classes for inspiration:

2. Guest slippers

Every housewife, when a large company of guests enters her home, is tormented by the question - what should she wear? You can’t buy enough ordinary slippers for everyone, and disposable ones are too fragile - they tear after the first or second use. Therefore, I propose to sew some stylish and bright guest slippers yourself, using multi-colored felt! Your guests will appreciate your care for them! Carefully study the pattern, cut out a similar one and sew it, decorating the product with a catchy button.

3. Stylish bracelet

For such a simple decoration you will need the ability to embroider with decorative stitches or beads. Otherwise, the bracelets will look too simple. These photo tips will come to your aid: stem stitch, loop stitch (in the middle and at the bottom of the product), all kinds of decorative laces.

4. Owl pillow

Such pillows can be a wonderful home decor, or a unique gift for loved ones. All you need to do is cut and sew all the pieces. A buttonhole stitch is ideal for this (see above). But! Remember that you first need to complete the top of the product, and only then sew the entire pillow, otherwise your product will easily be damaged. You can stuff it either with pieces of non-coarse fabric from old unnecessary things, or with holofiber - an analogue of padding polyester, which is similar to fluff balls.

5. Dahlia brooch

Here you will have to tinker. Follow the photo master class, and you will end up with a unique and beautiful decoration! You can take felt of any color or combine several different ones. Experiment!

7. Hot stand

Beautiful little things in the kitchen are the key to comfort, or at least a pleasant tea party. Cut out several circles of different colors and sizes. Sew with simple stitches, attach a petal or a simple flower and your stand is ready.

8. Pincushion in the form of a comb

An ideal gift for a handicraft friend! And a comfortable thing for yourself, your beloved. All pins and needles are in place and always at hand.

However, felt is a unique material and you can sew anything from it, the main thing is not to be afraid to experiment. Even if something doesn't work out for you, the failed work can be used as pieces for the next creation. Here are a couple of hints.
