Knit a bright kit with chickens for a newborn

Today we bring to your attention a model of a bright yellow set with chicks for your newborn baby. Such a set can cause a lot of tenderness and admiration among others, and your child will feel at ease and comfortable in it. The set consists of a blouse, a hat, and booties.

To create it you will need:

“Puffy Season” yarn in yellow (five skeins), orange (one skein) and black (one skein); knitting needles number four.

Making a sweater

We knit the back of the product

  1. We take a yellow thread and use knitting needles to cast on seventy stitches, then knit seven rows using garter stitch.
  2. Twenty loops need to be knitted in the center stockinette stitch(to create a chicken).
  3. We make crossings in the 2nd row: five by five to the right and the same amount to the left.
  4. Then we knit another eighteen rows, and then again cross five by five, then again create ten rows.
  5. We cross for the head: five by five to the right and the same amount to the left.
  6. In the next row (from the wrong side) we knit twenty loops, knitting them two together so that in the end there are ten front rows left. After this, knitting is carried out with a scarf pattern.
  7. Then we knit another eighteen rows, and then bind off on both sides with three, two and one loops.
  8. We close the loops in the center when the height of the armholes reaches eleven and a half centimeters. In this case, it is necessary to leave twelve loops along the edges for the armholes.
  9. In the next row we close all the loops.

Knitting sleeves

  1. Cast on forty-five stitches, then knit seven rows using garter stitch.
  2. Twelve loops in the center need to be knitted with stockinette stitch and immediately we cross three by three to the right and the same amount to the left.
  3. We add one loop in all fourth rows on both sides.
  4. We close the loops (five each) when the total height of the armholes reaches eighteen centimeters. In this case, it is necessary to continue closing in subsequent rows one loop at a time until there are fourteen loops left on the knitting needles.
  5. Then close all the loops.

Making gates

  1. We make seams along the shoulders, while raising sixty loops on the neckline.
  2. Create twenty rows using garter stitch.
  3. On both sides we close one loop three times, two loops five times, and then close the remaining loops.

We knit the legs of chickens and their beaks by analogy. We create the eyes using black thread.

We knit a hat for a newborn with knitting needles

  1. Cast on eighty stitches, then knit seven rows using garter stitch.
  2. Next we knit this way: seven garter stitches, six knit stitches, six garter stitches, and so on until the row is completed.
  3. In the purl row, we make additions in the front loops so that the result is twelve of them, on the front side we immediately make a three-by-three crossing to the right and the same number to the left. We prepare chickens in the same way as for the blouse.
  4. We create four rows using garter stitch.
  5. To get a rounded crown, you need to knit this way (alternatingly): nine garter stitch loops, decrease one loop, nine garter stitch loops, decrease one.
  6. In the purl row we create all the loops using garter stitch.
  7. Eight garter stitch stitches, decrease one stitch until the row is completed.
  8. In the next right row: seven garter stitch loops, decrease one loop, seven garter stitch loops, decrease one - to the end of the row.
  9. Decorate the hat with a pompom.

Making your own booties

  1. We cast on five loops, then knit with the following pattern: one knit stitch, one yarn over, three garter stitch loops, one yarn over, one knit stitch. We knit in this way until twenty holes are formed.
  2. Next, for the heel on both sides, we close ten loops.
  3. Continue knitting those loops that remain, not forgetting to yarn over.
  4. On one side, create a chicken on twelve knit stitches.
  5. When you have thirty-two holes, you need to create one row in garter stitch, one row alternating yarn overs and decreases, three rows in garter stitch.
  6. We finish by closing all the loops.

That's it! Your bright baby kit is ready!

Decrease - 2 loops knitted together
Decrease by shift - 2 loops knitted together behind the back wall or remove one loop. without knitting, then knit the second loop and throw the removed one over it.

Important: take the time to knit the sample. It is also advisable to add loops by knitting 2 loops from one by the front and back walls of the loop, because this method does not leave holes in the canvas. If you know another method of adding stitches that doesn't create holes, but this one seems difficult, use your own. We knit all the details, starting with a row of facial loops.
