For many New Year associated with Olivier salad, “The Irony of Fate”, fireworks and a decorated Christmas tree. However, the most beautiful thing about this holiday is that it is at this time that you can get together with the whole family and spend the outgoing year together.

Letidor has compiled a list of five reasons why New Year is the best family holiday, and hardly anyone will be able to argue with us!

New Year unites people of different religions

It doesn't matter who you believe in or what your religious preferences are - on New Year's Day it doesn't matter at all. After all, this holiday has no connection to any belief.

People of all religions say goodbye to the past year with joy and welcome the new one with hopes for a bright future.

On New Year's Day the whole family gets together

Family is the most important thing in the world. And when all our loved ones are gathered, sitting at a common table, smiling, joking and laughing, then we are truly happy.

Nothing can replace your mom's concern about what kind of salad you'd like to try. interesting stories sisters, gentle hands of her husband and funny antics of children.

IN New Year's Eve you can get everything at once, you just have to get everyone together and prepare as many delicious treats as possible!

You can also dance, hug and believe in miracles. And also - all together.

On New Year's Day, you can remember all the good things and let go of the bad ones.

When was the last time you sat down and looked through a family album of old photos? A holiday night is a great opportunity for this.

After a fun feast, take out your photos, find old videos and immerse your whole family in memories of the past year.

We are sure that you will have something to remember and laugh at!

This is a holiday when you can make plans for the future

New year - new life. It is at this time that we must boldly make plans and set goals for ourselves.

Have you ever dreamed of going to an exotic country? Interested in taking cooking classes or dance classes? New Year is the time for big resolutions.

You can even make yourself a list of wishes/goals and follow them for 12 months, each time checking off the completed task. The list will be filled with “checkmarks”, and at the end of December you will be surprised how much you have managed to do!

There is a magical atmosphere everywhere

Flickering lights, the smell of fresh cookies, snow outside the window and your favorite movies on TV - this is what creates a truly fabulous mood. The house is filled with warmth and comfort, all family members, after household chores, sit down at the large table and raise glasses of champagne.

Family New Year: games for children and adults, competitions, script, free materials for printing.

Family New Year

For our family, New Year is not only a feast under the tree, but also pleasant moments of communication with each other. And without interesting competitions, riddles and various unexpected magical surprises and inventions New Year holidays lose their charm. And in creativity, the family unites and inspiration and new ideas are born!

We usually prepare the holiday very quickly - literally in a few hours in the last days before New Year. We cook along the way, discussing it on the way to the store or in transport, as well as at night, so that no one hears anything from our surprises. And costumes are born from various improvised things. Baba Yaga appears from an ordinary robe, a scarf on her head and a broom or mop in her hands. The snowman is made from a sheet stretched over a gymnastics hoop, onto which snowflakes are sewn. Koschey - from tracksuit, a swimming cap on his head and a couple of lines of makeup on his face. Such characters are not scary and are very funny, making everyone laugh.

This is not a fictional script, it is a heartfelt, humorous family holiday at home or with guests. It is conducted without rehearsals and is based on improvisation.

Family New Year Scenario No. 1.

We played out this scenario in the coming New Year 2015. But you can use it not only on New Year’s Eve, but also on any day when guests with children come to your house.

Let's start like this.

Action 1. New Year's letter from Koshchei.

When the New Year comes and it's time to find gifts under the tree, guests find a very beautiful holiday envelope under the tree. Joyful, they open the envelope and read the message. And there!!! No, it’s not a Happy New Year greeting! In the envelope, instead of congratulations, there is a letter from Koshchei the Immortal!

Here it is: “Happy New Year! Hahaha! Did you want gifts?! Ha! You won't have a happy new year! I stole Santa Claus and hid New Year's happiness in a hot country. Soon Santa Claus will melt! You'll never find it! Koschey." (You can download this letter by clicking on the link and print it on a printer on a sheet of A4 paper) -

Action 2. New Year's trip by country.

We need to go save Santa Claus and we set off on a journey to look for a hot country, Santa Claus and New Year's happiness. Along the way we find ourselves in different countries and in games we learn a lot of interesting and funny things about them.

First game. First we all play together "Guess what." Questions are asked about how the New Year is celebrated in different countries. In the game you need to guess whether it is true or not. If this is a lie, then it needs to be corrected to the truth. You can come up with similar questions about Christmas.

Examples of tasks for the game:

— In Italy, there is a tradition at the very last minute before the New Year to throw broken dishes out of the window, old clothes and even furniture. Is this true or not?

— In Germany, Santa Claus comes to children on an elephant. Is this true or not? If not on an elephant, then on what? Guess it :-).

Tasks for this game at the holiday (questions and correct answers to them) You can download for free

With small children, during this game, you can depict how we are either flying on an airplane, or riding a train, or sailing on a ship from one country to another. And the adults will guess. So we will entertain both children and adults in this game.

Second game. Nonsense. In the game you have to guess the meaning of words. As a linguodidact by profession (i.e., a person involved in language teaching methods), I could not help but include humorous language puzzles for adults in the script. Almost all the adult guests asked to give them tasks from this game so that they could play with their guests later :). Therefore, be prepared - and print out several copies of the tasks for the game in advance.

Examples of tasks for this game. Guess what it is?

— What is “toadstool” translated from Czech: a) poisonous mushroom, b) buckwheat, c) an unpleasant incident?

— What is “bun” translated from Bulgarian: a) homemade baked goods, b) plump, c) bride, d) cake?

Want to know the answers? Then download the questions and answers from the links below:

You can play this game not only during the New Year holidays, but also at any family holiday.

While we are guessing these 12 questions, we are moving through the fairy forest to the fairy hut. The travel map helps us with this. The correct answer to one question in the game of nonsense is our one step forward to the hut. We move the chip across the field.

Action No. 3. Baba-Yaga's tasks.

We find ourselves in Baba Yaga's hut. Yes, this is exactly what was drawn on our travel map. We remember how to get into the hut and together we ask the hut to turn “its back to the forest, and its front to me.”

Baba Yaga greets us very politely and in a fairy-tale way: “You are my killer whales, where did you come from? On what business did the boyars and merchants pass by my hut?”

She agrees to help us in the search for Santa Claus and New Year's happiness, but only if we complete her tasks.

Baba Yaga gives separate tasks to adults and children.

The task for children is riddles - deceptions. They are structured in such a way that some of the riddles require an answer in rhyme, and some - not in rhyme. You need to be careful and not make mistakes! Not only children, but also their mothers and even fathers are happy to guess deceptions. And adults make mistakes no less often than children!

You can give chips for correct answers in this game (if even 7 people answered correctly at the same time, we give each of them a chip). At the end of the game, we count the chips and give small surprises to everyone who has at least one chip.

Riddles - rhyming tricks alternate with regular riddles to confuse players. You can deliberately pronounce out loud the first syllable of an incorrect word in deception.

The task for adults is a question-answer game. You need to tell the whole truth about yourself in this game.

You will need:

- printed tickets with questions and answers for the game (download them from the link below, print them on a printer and cut them so that there is only one question or one answer on one narrow strip),

- two opaque gift bags. Put the questions in one bag and the answers in the other.

How to play:

The first player draws one question strip from the question bag and reads it out loud to the player to his left. The second player pulls out his answer to this question from the answer bag.

The result is often very funny combinations. We have this game going around for several rounds because everyone really likes it.

In this game, children can help adults by pulling strips from bags. Many kids do this with great pleasure.

Act 4. The riddle of Baba-Yaga.

For completing tasks we receive help from Baba Yaga. Like this:

In our case, we hid the letter under the largest flower in the house (a rose). Under the flower there is a trolley - a gurney. There was a note under the gurney. So we came up with this riddle:

"Find the most big tree throughout the entire district (meaning in the apartment). Under the tree - magic item. It contains 4 skewers, 2 sticks and 1 bed. Today he is here, and tomorrow he is there. Under this object you will find an assistant.”

And you can come up with your own riddle. Here riddle form, in which you can fill out the frame yourself -

Action 5. We receive an assistant and a hint.

In our designated place in the apartment (under our cart with big rose) we find a helper - a hint. There is another mystery in it. And it contains the answer to where Koshchei hides Father Frost and our happiness in the coming year.

The riddle is complex: “There are blue flowers in the iron flowerbed - they help to cook any kind of food.” If the players do not guess, then there is a riddle below - a hint from which it is immediately clear that the hot country is located... in our kitchen! Next to the stove or in the stove! Let's go there!

(My husband and I thought for a long time about where to hide the gifts - and decided that in a hot country, we obviously only have a stove, or rather an oven. We came up with the riddle ourselves).

Act 6. Save Santa Claus and find New Year's happiness.

We come to the kitchen and find another sheet with tasks there. It turns out that Santa Claus is protected by security. And we need to speak her teeth to save them. We play tongue twisters - “we charm the teeth of the guards”, at the same time we find out and discuss what this Russian expression means (to distract the interlocutor with extraneous conversations). You can use any tongue twisters for this game. We had these this year.

Having passed through security, we find ourselves at the stove. And we find in it a bag with a toy Santa Claus and gifts, as well as another bag called “New Year's Happiness.”

What is this bag of happiness - I’ll tell you more. In it - new year wishes. Each wish is printed on a piece of paper. A sheet of paper is wrapped several times (resulting in a dense lump 2-3 cm in size) and packed in a corrugated colored paper(like in a bag). The bag is tied with a narrow gold ribbon. Everyone pulls out their bag, unties it and reads out what their wish is for the New Year.

Wishes can be different - you can find them on the Internet and change them a little - rhyme them to suit your family.

For example:

Wish 1. “Many incidents await you
And interesting travels -
For courses, on vacation, abroad -
Where fate will decide!

Wish 2. “You will, my friend, continue to
Burn with creative work.
But you won't burn your wings,
Take care of your health!”

Wish 3. “Your hairstyle, appearance
It will pleasantly surprise us all.
From then on you will continue to
Keep getting prettier and younger!”

Family New Year Scenario No. 2.

If you are going on a visit, it will be difficult to fully implement the first scenario without prior preparation. But this does not mean that the games are cancelled. You can play different games right at the table.

What you can do at a home party as a guest:

- play game "Question and answer"(see description and download file above).

- And also play the games described above: “Nonsense”, “Guess It: A Journey Through Countries” and “Riddles - Tricks”. For the correct answer in each of these games, we give chips to each player who said the correct answer. If five people answered correctly, then we give an incentive chip to each of the five. At the end of the game we count the chips. Whoever collects the most chips gets the right to be the first to take the bag of happiness and read the wish out loud from it so that it comes true.

- play a game Activity (ready-made board and printed game).

- play games “Bundle”, “Changes”, “Win-Win Lottery”. We played these games last New Year, so we didn’t repeat them. And you can read about these and others fun games with guests at a family holiday in the article

I wish everyone a happy New Year and Christmas holidays! And let the games on family New Year's holiday bring joy and creative ideas to your home, unite your family and strengthen it!

You will find a complete collection of games for a family holiday, medals, certificates, chips for game winners, masks for staging in the book

New Year is always a noisy celebration. Pre-holiday bustle in the form of choosing and purchasing gifts, outfits, Christmas tree decorations, food for preparing a dinner party brings many only nervous breakdowns and fatigue. As usual, this holiday follows the same scenario every year. And every time we try to celebrate the coming year outside the home, outside the family, away from loved ones. The article presents reflections on the following topics: why the prospect of celebrating the New Year with our family scares us; why it is important to make this holiday truly family-friendly and what is needed for this.

New Year's Eve has long ago become for everyone a symbol of the renewal of the world created by mankind. On this magical day, December 31, until midnight, each of us gives ourselves a countless number of unshakable promises, unbreakable vows, makes a host of fulfilled or doomed desires, and, of course, prepares to begin on January 1 a completely different one, full of joy, goodness, love and happiness life.

Vanity precedes all this. Buying gifts, which in most cases are either very expensive (for extra showiness) or very similar to a ransom (after all, it’s customary to give, so you have to give something). Disputes about where to celebrate and what to wear. If you have children, then think about where to place them during the “adult” feast. If there are elderly parents, decisions are made about whether to visit them at all, and if so, how long to stay there. If you plan to visit several familiar families in an evening or night, then the order of their visits is established by quarreling and slamming doors. The options can be listed endlessly.

There is no doubt that the New Year's weekend intuitively makes us strive for a noisy, cheerful pastime due to historical prerequisites. “How you celebrate the New Year is how you will spend it,” our ancestors used to say. Therefore, January 1 has always been considered a day of idle idleness and unbridled celebrations, while December 31 was recommended to be spent quietly, boringly and sadly, so that the coming year would turn out to be joyful and blessed. Since ancient times, songs and shouts, the ringing of bells, the firing of rifles and cannons on New Year's Eve were called upon to drive out all evil spirits and call upon good spirits. Today's loud screams, explosions of firecrackers and firecrackers, small fireworks, burning sparklers and candles worthily continue the described ancient traditions of our country. We seem to have forgotten only one tradition amid all this external carnival: new year - family holiday.

Most of us have a negative attitude towards all kinds of family celebrations and therefore are not eager to spend the New Year with your family. These are really not very pleasant chores: you need to clean the house, decorate the rooms, spend almost the whole day preparing holiday dishes (everything should turn out not only appetizing, but also elegant), get nervous about the money spent cash for food, alcohol, souvenirs, festive clothes and tinsel. In addition, almost everyone has at least 15 relatives, and you cannot invite some and not others, otherwise a mistake will result in a lifelong resentment on the part of the “rejected”. And like the apotheosis of excitement - the anticipation of the finale of the holiday. It necessarily contains, for example, immobile guests who will need to be sent home by taxi as valuable cargo. It also involves uncontrollable children who will constantly get in the way and do whatever comes into their head. And after the guests leave, the owners will be left with mountains of dirty dishes that they don’t want to wash after a whole day of cooking. As a result, there will be no pleasure left from meeting a new milestone, no strength, and no wishes for Grandfather Frost.

On the other hand, a troubling observation can be made. Everyday life - work; I want to devote my vacation to myself; Birthdays and other holidays are monotonous gatherings at the table that end the same way, so there is absolutely no desire to go there. It turns out that the family practically never gets together. And this is unfortunate, because this is exactly what our society lacks now - strong family ties. The family has been an important part of people's lives for many centuries. Everyone knew that behind him there was real support, protection, help, and this calmed him down and gave him strength. Now gender as such means nothing. He gradually lost his authority, and we, instead of returning its significance, on the contrary, in every possible way push away any opportunity to change this set of circumstances. Thus, with our own hands we make ourselves weak, and, partly, lonely.

Many European countries have their own long-standing traditions of celebrating the New Year. There are none in Russia. Noisy sledding, trips abroad, trips to nightclubs, corporate parties, launching multi-colored lights into the sky, etc. - all these types of events winter holidays take place in many parts of the planet. So why not create an authentic tradition that will not only become distinctive feature meeting the coming year with Russians, and will also make us stronger spiritually?

There is nothing difficult about staying close to your loved ones on New Year's Eve and having fun with them. As they say, you can’t catch a fish without effort, so all family members will have to put in a little effort. It is advisable to think about the menu in advance, distribute responsibilities around the house, plan the day of December 31 so that everyone has time to take a walk together, go to the theater, to a concert, to the square where folk festivals take place, to the hill, play snowballs and carry out similar events.

In order not to turn the holiday into a dull, ordinary sitting at the table, into the process of absorbing food and alcohol, it makes sense to come up with interesting activities in advance in which the whole family will participate. Board games, viewing the positive film on New Year's theme (preferably without the TV - it’s better to prepare a disc of your choice), balloons with fortune telling, gift exchange, karaoke (whoever has everything you need) - together with other exciting options, these entertainments will make your stay at home, close to your loved ones, comfortable and positively fulfilling.

By showing imagination and involving the whole family in preparing the holiday, everyone will get the chance to give themselves the best New Year's gift, bringing together what maintains a person’s harmony with the world, calmness, and confidence in the future, despite prejudices.

Is New Year a family holiday for you?

If you find an error, please highlight a piece of text and click Ctrl+Enter.

I like the tradition of celebrating New Year with my family. After all, with whom you celebrate the holiday, you will spend the year with. I firmly believe in this sign, so I try to gather family members at the table. I think it strengthens the relationship. Unfortunately, the children are already grown up, they have their own things to do, and we don’t spend time together very often. Even though we all live in the same apartment, we rarely sit down to the table as a family. Therefore, I would like to bring everyone together at least on New Year’s Day. The son and daughter, however, sometimes try to resist - they want to celebrate the New Year somewhere in the company, hang out with friends. But my husband and I insist that everyone be at home that night. This gives a feeling of a strong rear. Raising a festive glass of champagne in the circle of your closest people, you understand that you have a home, that there are people who will not leave you in any situation. And you can celebrate with friends the next day - the holidays are long, there’s enough time to go visit. But for the New Year itself you need to be at home. With those who are truly close. After all, whatever one may say, this is the most main holiday year, and you need to congratulate your family, not your friends.

Ivan, 50 years old, driver

On New Year's Day you need to be at home with your family. There's no point in wandering around the streets. All these public celebrations can be unsafe. In a drunken crowd setting off fireworks, anything can happen. Last year my daughter went to Red Square to celebrate the New Year. She really wanted to open champagne as the Kremlin chimes struck. And what? My wallet was stolen, I caught a cold, I was home in the morning, hungry and cold. Is this a holiday? I am against such meetings. It’s better on your own couch, with loved ones. And I don’t see any particular reason to go on a visit. You won’t get a good night’s sleep in someone else’s bed, and you won’t get home on New Year’s Eve. A taxi costs a lot of money! Therefore, I believe that the tradition of celebrating the New Year with family is very correct. First of all, it's safe. Secondly, New Year is the longest holiday. They finish celebrating it in the morning. Therefore, in order not to feel cramped in someone else’s house, it is better to celebrate in own apartment, with those in front of whom you are not ashamed to appear in a negligee. Otherwise, some go to visit, drink there until the morning, sleep for a couple of hours and, in order not to spend money on a taxi and not shake with a hangover in the subway, go home by car. Not only did we not get enough sleep, but we also didn’t really sober up after the holiday! In general, in my opinion, celebrating the New Year at home is the most practical and safest decision.

Elena, 50 years old, hairdresser

All this talk about a “family holiday” really irritates me. For example, my husband and I have been divorced for a long time. My daughter moved to another city a long time ago, she has her own family, her own worries. Parents died. In general, I don’t have a family. I can't say that I feel lonely. There are friends, there are girlfriends. But before the New Year I always get depressed. Because the idea is constantly imposed on me that I must celebrate the New Year with my family, otherwise the holiday is not a holiday and you seem to be somehow flawed. There is no need to discuss this. Let people celebrate the New Year the way they like: some go to visit, some listen to the chimes on Red Square, others at home under the Christmas tree. Any method is correct, as long as the person likes it. There is no need to impose any traditions on anyone. This only spoils the mood and the feeling of celebration disappears.

Valentina, 24 years old, manager

My parents are elderly people. We haven't lived together for a long time. Maybe I would like to celebrate the New Year somewhere in the company or at a party, but I know that my parents expect me to come to them and be with them that night. I think they deserve it. After all, they don’t have many holidays in their lives, and they want to be surrounded by attention on the “most important night of the year.” This is the most for them main gift. So I try to give them that pleasure. I definitely bring my grandchildren to them so that a real holiday it worked out. No one should feel lonely on New Year's Day. I know that my parents miss me much more than all my friends combined. My friends will manage without me. In the end, it is not so important for them exactly when we meet - December 31st or, for example, January 2nd. And for my parents, the fact that I come to them for the New Year is an indicator of my love for them. They see that I am ready to sacrifice communication with friends and noisy company in order to be with them. It pleases them.

Anton, 40 years old, entrepreneur

My wife and I try to celebrate New Year anywhere, just not at home. The so-called “family holiday” is a real nightmare. The wife is forced to prepare a lot of food. As a result, when it comes to sitting down at the table, she is already completely exhausted. She doesn't want to celebrate, but wants to sleep. If we stay at home, some relatives always ask us to visit. Parents, mine and hers, definitely come, if we are at home - well, we need to celebrate the New Year in the family. Nothing good comes out of these gatherings. At first, everyone will certainly quarrel, then my father-in-law and my father-in-law will get so drunk that they’ll kill the saints, and then we’ll all go to bed together. In the morning, no one can look at each other anymore, but still, there is nothing to do - we need to continue celebrating. So, if even the slightest opportunity arises to avoid family gatherings, we definitely take advantage of it. The best thing is to go abroad for the entire holiday, so that none of the relatives even think about dropping by to visit us and starting a “family holiday”.

Alexey, 21 years old, student

It seems to me that there is no need to forcibly bring together young people and older generation for the sake of observing some stupid tradition. Well, who will benefit from the fact that I will celebrate the New Year at home? No one! Parents still go to bed immediately after the chiming clock - at their age it is already difficult for them not to sleep at night. What should I do next? Is it stupid to sit on the couch and quietly watch “Blue Light”? I can't think of a more boring activity! So it turns out that everyone will suffer. I pretend that I have a lot of fun sitting at the table with Olivier and herring under my fur coat, and my parents do their best to nod off, but try hard not to fall asleep so that I don’t remain alone at this very table. Nobody needs this. It is much better if everyone congratulates each other on the holiday, and then they will celebrate it as they like. My parents are with a TV and a bowl of Olivier, and I am with my friends in a nightclub. This doesn’t mean that my parents and I don’t love each other. We just have different interests due to big difference aged. No one is to blame for this, and we need to treat each other with understanding. Do not force young people to sit with the older generation and do not torment the older generation with youth entertainment.
