Let's start with the materials.
I received 1 skein of yarn as a gift. This is 100% mercerized Iris cotton. A skein contains 300 g and 1800 meters. Hook No. 2.

I started knitting with a skirt. I knitted a tube of 5 rows of 12 large motifs in a permanent way. Watch the video for how to knit these round motifs.
When the pipe was ready, without cutting the thread, I aligned the edge, immediately narrowing it, fitting it. We also do this continuously in semi-motives.
Photo 1. We make the last connecting loop in the pipe. In the same loop we knit a single crochet and cast on 4 loops. Such 4 loops will be between all half-motifs.

This is the smooth edge we got. It makes it easy and simple to knit any pattern.
Knitting first bodice row. Let's start counting the rows with it. In the diagram I marked in blue our edge, from which we begin to knit the fabric upward. The pink dots are the centers of our half-motifs. The green lifting loops show where we have the beginning and end of the row. The black symbols indicate what needs to be knitted and how to distribute the stitches in the new row. I adjusted this distribution in order to obtain the number of loops for the next row that is a multiple of 3.
Second We knit the row completely with single crochets in each column and under each loop. I knitted according to wrong side, I like it better. The output was 240 columns.
IN third in a row we knit crossed columns along front side.. The difference is that there we knit X-posts with one loop inside and pass 1 between the legs, but here there are 2 loops each. And in today’s pattern, our X-columns have common tops and legs, also at the same point, in two neighboring X-columns.
In the photo below, a row of crossed columns is ready. Next, fourth the row is all single crochet. We make decreases in it, skipping every 10th stitch or loop, for a total of 216 sc (I didn’t take a photo).
Fifth the row is all double crochet, one in each column. 216 SSN.
Sixth row. Also all from CCH, you just need to make 40 decreases with any in a convenient way. I marked 8 places evenly around the circle and made 5 decreases in each (2 DCs with a common top). And one more moment. In this row we leave 3 columns on the back between the beginning and end of the row for the future snake. Starting from this row we knit only in turning rows. The output of this row should be 173 columns.
7,8 and 9 rows - elastic from relief columns 1*1 (LRS, IRS and so on)
After the elastic to the end of knitting the back, in the place where the zipper will be, we knit 4 dcs at the beginning and at the end, regardless of the pattern.
11 row. The entire row is double crochet, only in the middle of the row (on the 41-42 tick, you need to make 1 decrease so that by the next row we have 171 stitches left (well, we don’t count the 3 that we don’t knit).
12-23 row. Let's start the pattern. There will be no more additions or decreases for now. We knit according to the pattern below in a straight continuous fabric up to the armholes.
Starting from the 24th row, we knit both back and front panels separately. You will get 22 more rows.

We connect the finished back panels to the front when knitting the last row, or sew them together. Then we tie the armholes and neck with a place for a zipper with 3 rows of single crochets. We sew in a zipper.
I additionally tied the bottom of the dress in two rows without patterns, I just knitted what came up. This smoothed out the waves a little, and the row of DCs “weighted” the dress.
We’ll take pictures in the dress later, but for now the photo of the “hot” dress, as they say, is just off the hook :).
And here you can even see how much yarn is left in the skein. You can tie another accessory to the dress, a bolero, openwork mittens, for example, or a cape-stole, a panama hat, or a handbag.
