Roller blinds are a modern and quite attractive way to decorate a window. The products combine the simplicity and convenience of blinds, as well as the aesthetics of conventional curtains and curtains. The variety of materials produced in Holland, Belgium, Poland, Germany, Turkey makes it possible to satisfy any design whim regarding the texture, color and density of the material. However, not everyone knows how to correctly measure roller blinds for plastic windows.

Peculiarities

Roller blinds easily regulate the lighting in your home. They can completely darken a room or gently diffuse light. Main advantages of the products:

  • protection from the sun, noise and prying eyes;
  • compact design – space saving;
  • simplicity and ease of control;
  • great design possibilities;
  • durability - do not wear out over time and do not lose their aesthetic appearance;
  • do not attract dust, do not fade in the sun;
  • fabrics and mechanisms do not contain harmful substances;
  • reasonable price - depends on the size of the window, fabric and system.

Main types

The products do not require special care, but it is advisable to treat them with care. By appearance There are curtains of open and closed types.

Open type products

They consist of fabric and a shaft. The open shaft is usually attached to the top of the window (sash) using brackets. The types of fastening depend on the size and area of the window; brackets of larger and smaller sizes are used.

Small brackets (mini system) are usually installed on the window sash, large ones - on the frame or window opening. The fabric is wound onto the shaft. Open type roller blinds are controlled using a chain mechanism. A decorative strip is installed at the bottom of the fabric, thanks to which the fabric does not sag and is evenly wound.

Can be used to secure the product (especially when opening a window). magnetic fixation. With magnetic fixation, an open-type product is fixed using magnets and metal plates (in several places). Fixation on a fishing line occurs along the entire height of the curtain, so it is more practical and effective than magnetic fixation.

Closed type products

Closed roller blinds consist of fabric and a shaft, but the shaft is placed in a plastic or aluminum box, and guide strips are placed along the edges of the fabric, which perform the function of fixing the fabric. Closed-type products are very well suited when it is not planned to use tulle and curtains - for example, when decorating a balcony or loggia. Thanks to the refinement of the aluminum frame, the effect of completing the window design is achieved.

Guides for closed products eliminate the possibility of light penetration between glass and fabric, thanks to which you can achieve complete darkness of the room. Closed-type products can have flat and U-shaped guides.

To add even more sophistication, closed-type products can be equipped with decorative chains of different colors.

Window measurement

In order for roller blinds to have an aesthetic appearance and high practicality, you need to understand how to measure correctly. Roller blinds are divided into several types, and each has its own characteristics of taking measurements.

Classic version

To correctly measure curtains that will subsequently be used for plastic windows, you first need to find out exactly where the roller blinds will be mounted. They can be attached to the window frame itself or on the window opening.

What measurements need to be taken:

  1. Curtain width – “B”. Minimum width – 50 cm, maximum – 300 cm.
  2. Height – “H”. The minimum curtain height is 50 cm, the maximum is 300 cm.
  3. Length roller blinds designated "L". The minimum length is 27 cm and ad infinitum.

Each type of roller blind has its own acceptable dimensions. They directly depend on the type of material from which they are made. The control length cannot be less than 2/3 of the finished product.

Fastening directly to the window opening:

  1. “H” depends on the length of the protruding parts of the window sill. If the window sill is flush, then the dimensions are at your discretion.
  2. If installation is carried out on a wall, boundaries must be respected. The distance between the roller blind and the ceiling must be at least 7 cm; it must be carefully measured.

Cassette

Uni-1 cassette roller blinds are measured as follows:

  • “B” is measured along the width of the glass unit, along the vertical of the window. The measurement is taken very accurately.
  • “H” measurements are carried out in the same way as “B”, only horizontally. Which side the control will be on is determined individually - at the request of the customer.
  • Level “H” depends on calculations and is 2/3 of the length of the product.

Uni 2 must be measured very carefully. The location of the fittings on the plastic window is of great importance when taking measurements:

  • “B” is equal to the width of the glass unit + 6.8 cm. We must not forget that the width of the product is 2 cm less, that is, a minimum of 25 cm and a maximum of 120 cm.
  • “H” is equal to the distance between the top of the upper plug and the bottom of the lower plug of the guidance system. The minimum is 20 cm and the maximum is 150 cm.

Determining the size of roller blinds according to the Mini type:

  1. The mount is installed on the window frame. To do this, measurements are taken “B” (directly of the double-glazed window itself), then you need to add the width of the glazing bead, it is approximately 0.4 cm. The remaining dimensions are calculated in the same way. Then you should choose a convenient side to control the curtain mechanism. The approximate length of the lace is 2/3 of “H”.
  2. In the event that a metal-plastic window is opened for ventilation, fixing chips for curtains are attached to its lower part. The clamps are needed so that during ventilation the roller blinds or blinds do not sweep away everything on the windowsill.

The following locking options are available:

  • magnetic latches;
  • fishing line

There are several ways to attach a curtain rod:

  • using screws;
  • on special double-sided tape;
  • suspended structure.

Roman

First, you need to decide where exactly this curtain will be located. Such a curtain can also be installed on a metal-plastic window or on the window opening itself. You need to be very careful when taking measurements during internal installation.

To determine the size of the Roman model, you need to take measurements “H” and “B”. By using taken measurements carry out the necessary calculations:

  • add 15 cm to “B”;
  • add 20 cm to “H”;
  • at the end of installation, “B” and “H” are approximately 0.8 cm smaller.

"Day-Night"

This type of curtains can also be installed on a metal-plastic frame or on a window opening. When it comes to Day-Night curtains, you need to calculate the following: add 1.5 cm to “B”, 15 cm to “H”.

If the curtain is attached directly to a metal-plastic frame, measurements are taken in three places “B” and three places “H”. We take the smallest values as the height of the opening. If there are corner slopes, measurements are taken from the place where the curtain will hang in the future. “B” is equal to “B” of the window opening minus 5 mm. "N" equals "N" of the window opening.

For frame allowances, measurements of the height of the glazing bead and the width of the window frame are used. The distance between the curtain and the handle on the window should be approximately 1 cm, you can mark it on the fabric. It’s worth trying on as carefully as possible.

To learn how to correctly measure roller blinds for plastic windows, see the following video.

Subtleties in calculations

The most practical way to position the control system is so that the cord does not collide with the window handle during operation. The length of the lace of the mechanism is set at the request of the customer.

It is very important to take correct window measurements when choosing roller blinds, especially if they are fastened with self-tapping screws. The products are completed with a box for the upper part and guide elements - at the request of the buyer. If the curtain box is decorative, it is secured with special fasteners. Measuring roller blinds for plastic windows is not at all difficult. You need to follow the advice of experts, and you will do all the calculations as quickly as possible.

The main thing is maximum care; you need to measure very carefully. In this case, the result will not disappoint you - the curtains will fit the window opening just perfectly.

Roller blinds are a multifunctional part of the decor. Unlike classic curtains, roller curtains take up much less space, require minimal maintenance, and most importantly, have no less light transmittance. But purchasing this fashionable novelty, you need to know for sure which size is right for you. Many people are faced with the problem: how to take the correct measurement? In this article we will try to figure out what's what with you.

How to take the correct measurement

First of all, it is worth noting that the size of the future roller blind depends on the dimensions of your window, as well as the shape of the structures on the double-glazed window. It is important to remember that the purpose of your measurements is to determine the future width parameters of your roller blinds, since roller blinds are most often about 2 meters long (which should be enough for most modern models window structures).

Measuring the window

  • First, we measure the glass in width and height (along the sash). Knowing this parameter will allow you to determine what the minimum width and length of the future roller blind should be (for example, in the photo below).

It is necessary to measure the length and width of the window

    Secondly, you need to measure the depth of the bead (this detail is shown in the photo below). Knowledge of the data obtained will allow us to determine which roller blind system will suit us best. So, if the depth of the glazing bead is more than 1.5 cm, it means that the “Uni” type roller blind system is suitable for you. And if the bead depth is up to 1.5 cm (inclusive), then the “Profil” (profile) or “MINI” (mini) system is better suited.

Not only plastic, but also standard wooden windows are suitable for the above described manipulations.

Important advice: keep in mind that according to production parameters, the width of the curtain is considered to be its overall width, that is, the cornice or, figuratively speaking, a “tube” that contains a rolled curtain roll, and this element is always wider than the fabric itself.

Choosing a roller blind system

MINI system

MINI roller blinds are classic model on a small shaft. Due to the compactness of the shaft, such curtains can be mounted directly on top of the sash. The fastenings are installed without any mechanical intervention, which preserves the integrity of the frame, and therefore its aesthetic appearance in the future. Even if the roll in such a curtain turns out to be longer than the height of the glass, the extra centimeters can simply be cut off.

A special metal strip and magnetic holders in such models ensure that the rolled fabric is fixed on the sashes so that there is no sagging. The magnets are attached to the frame using double-sided tape. The doors themselves can open in any plane.

The advantages of the MINI system are affordable price and compactness, which generates considerable demand for such curtains. True, this model will not provide a high level of light resistance. There may be gaps on the sides of the glass through which sunlight will pass through.

The correct measurement for curtains of the MINI system is as follows:

  • Measure the glass for width, then for height up to the sash. Write the obtained data in millimeters. Add 30 mm (3 cm) to the obtained width values, and 120 mm (12 cm) to the height data.
  • Also determine for yourself where you would like the curtain control mechanisms to be located (we recommend sticking to standard standards - that is, count on the control chain near the hinges)
  • Select one type of fastening (screws, hanging bracket, adhesive tape)

Installation of curtains of the “MINI” system is carried out only on the doors.

UNI system

Quite a popular system, because it fits very organically into almost any interior, convenient and practical to use. Well suited for rooms where there are already curtains or tulles.

The roll is in a special plastic box and is controlled using a chain. This system takes into account the possibility of fixing the roll at any level. There is also a lock for the chain.

The structure itself is attached to both sides of the window sashes, where metal guides are installed along the glazing beads, along which the roll stretches when lowered and raised. Installation on a window opening is also possible.

The system in turn is divided into types UNI-1 and UNI-2

    UNI-1. It can be used regardless of the window structure, and also has an attractive appearance. This advantage gives it impressive popularity. If you wish, you can choose the color of the box in the same tone as the frame, which will provide a combination that is pleasing to the eye. A typical example of the UNI-1 system is a 200x175 roller blind shown in the photo below:

The measurement algorithm for this system is as follows:

  • The height is measured along the edges of the bead + 20 mm is added to the value (as a reserve due to the size of the cornice)
  • The width is also along the edges of the bead (nothing is added to the resulting value)

It is worth noting that due to the simplified design of UNI-1, friction of the lower part of the curtain (slat) on the glass is often observed, which leads to unwanted bevels, which means cracks are formed. A similar phenomenon is observed where the bead depth is about or more than 20 mm (2 cm).

  • UNI-2. A more universal subtype, aimed at eliminating the problems of friction against glass and bevel of the plank by allowing it to be mounted on any surface, regardless of the “relief”. Suitable for windows with any glazing bead depth, especially for those where it is more than 20 mm. Thanks to the U-shaped vertical guides, the curtain is always in a clear position and does not rub or become beveled.

The measurement algorithm for UNI-2 is as follows:

    Measure the width according to the external dimensions of the roller blind guides (you need to know at the front which model and what sizes you want to buy)

  • The height is also determined by the external dimensions + the box height of 70 mm (7 cm) is taken into account. Experts recommend purchasing a product with a height reserve of + 10-20 mm (1-2 cm), since in case of an error with the dimensions, the plugs are removed from the guides and cut to height.

Profil system

This system is suitable for windows with slightly thickened frames, rounded or shallow glazing beads (up to 1.5 cm in depth). The design feature is that it is mounted at a distance from the glass. The guides are U-shaped, which ensures good fixation of the fabric as it moves. The curtain is controlled using a special chain, and the fabric can be fixed at any level.

Correct measurements for this system:

  • We measure the latitude at horizontal angles from sash to sash.
  • The height is measured taking into account the size of both the glass and the entire sash that opens.

Installation of the “profile” system is possible on a window opening, on a sash, and would even be appropriate on a door.

Alternatives

If none of the types of roller blinds discussed above satisfy your aesthetic tastes, but at the same time you are not deprived of the desire to acquire blinds on a woven basis, then know that there is a way out. Its name is Roman blinds.

Even if you are not picky in your choice, and you also like the roller version, it is still important to note that for balconies, for example, roller blinds will not work well, given the traditionally large width of balcony glass and their number, but Roman blinds will come in handy here. True, plastic windows are suitable for the recommendations described below.

Considering the volume of such a curtain, it can be installed both on the sash and on the opening, and even on three- or four-leaf windows. The main thing here, again, is to take correct measurements:

  • Roman blind for the doorway. “Latitude A” is measured by the width of the fabric. Here you should know that the fabric itself of the finished product is 20+ mm (take this difference into account). “Height B” is measured in accordance with the length of the finished product (without additional calculations)

We take into account both width and height

    On the sash. The width is measured along the outer edge of the bead (again, we take into account the 20+ mm additional width of the product in relation to the fabric, and we also take into account the location of the window handle). Height is measured according to the height of the finished product.

  • For triple-glazed windows and more, Roman blinds are usually made to order, although some manufacturers already have ready-made models. Here the following are taken into account: the number of folds of the Roman curtain in height; as well as the results of measuring the lower and upper edges of the curtains at one level to the sashes of each window (so that the fastenings of the Roman blind rods are symmetrical)

On large double-glazed windows, the problem of curtain symmetry is very relevant

If some aspects of determining the dimensions and installing roller blinds are not clear to you, we recommend watching video tutorials and video instructions on the Internet by simply typing into the search: “how to measure a roller blind.”

Roller blinds gained popularity when double-glazed windows appeared. A simple design consisting of a dense material fixed to the shaft. A simple control system allows you to quickly open and close the window. Due to its high aesthetic qualities, ease of use and ease of maintenance, this version of the blinds is in constant demand. To determine the dimensions, you will need a measuring meter and a pen with a notepad to record the result.

Mounting options

Before measuring the window for roller blinds, it is advisable to choose a fastening method. It could be one of four.

  1. To the ceiling.
  2. To the wall.
  3. Inside the opening.
  4. On the sash.

Available for sale finished goods standard dimensions. To purchase suitable option, it is enough to find out only the required width.

Width measurement is taken at the top. 1 cm is subtracted from the total. Then the height from the window sill to the top edge of the window is measured, 1 cm is subtracted from the data obtained. If the geometry is slightly broken, the stock is enough for the purchased product to fit inside.

The disadvantage of screwing blinds in one of the most common ways is the lack of access to the window and restrictions on opening and closing it. There are mini-cassette blinds that are mounted directly on each section. The canvas is rolled up and stored in a box located on top of the frame of the opening element. Manufacturers offer another modification of such curtains - UNI 2. This type differs in that the guides are installed on both sides of the glass.

Roller curtains installed in fragments most often have to be ordered from a specialized organization. In addition to the dimensions, it is important to decide on which side the closing mechanism should be located and choose the material.

Roman blinds are modern solution for owners of double-glazed windows. First you need to determine the location of their placement and measure it. And also decide on accessories and fabric. If all the steps are completed correctly, then the chosen option will please you for a long time.

For those who live in Odessa, we measure roller blinds free of charge, provided that you place an order with us. If we arrived, measured it, and you said “we’ll think about it,” then such a measurement trip will cost 100 UAH (in Odessa). If you are still determined to order from us, then these 100 UAH will go into the cost of the order, and the measurement in this case will become free for you. Here on the website, the price is indicated for one roller blind made of this fabric, in the Mini 19 open system on a fishing line, which is attached to the window sash, or its blind part with minimum design dimensions, i.e. width 50 cm. This does not mean that a roller blind cannot be made smaller than 50 cm, you can make it at least 25 cm in width, but its cost will be calculated as 50 cm. The price changes every 5 cm in width. To find out the cost of curtains for your windows, you need to place an order on our website, indicating the fabric from which you want to make roller blinds for yourself, leave your contact phone number, and a manager will contact you and calculate the curtains according to your sizes. Call us at the numbers listed in the contacts section and calculate the curtains according to your sizes, or write a letter to us indicating your sizes.

Now about how to measure.

Let's start with the simplest system - this open system Mini 19 with fixation on a fishing line or magnet, you can do cable fixation (at an additional cost) and the M 25 system (they are similar). This system is suitable for almost all types of window profiles, and generally does not depend on the shape of the glazing bead (rectangular, shaped, rounded).

What sizes are needed? The most important size here is width. The width is measured as follows: the width of the glass unit + the width of the bead, i.e. we need the joint of the bead with the frame, where the bead enters the frame (from this joint on the left side to this joint on the right side).

In height, we measure the entire sash or blind part from top to bottom as shown in the figure below. These will be the dimensions of the roller blinds according to the fabric!

BUT!!! You should know that in a roller blind Mini 19 the fabric size is smaller in width than the overall size of the curtain by 33 mm. See picture.

It follows from this that on the window sash or blind part there should be a distance where the roller blind brackets can be screwed on without any problems. As a rule, such problems do not arise on a sash window, because There is always a place there, but sometimes problems arise in the remote part of it.

Let's consider the options.

Let's look at the right side of the window, that is, the blind right side. What we see: There is a loop on the left side and a slope on the right side. Our task is to place the roll between the loop and the slope. On the hinge side, as a rule, there is 8-10 mm left before the joint of the glazing bead with the frame, distance A. Sometimes it is less, but very rarely. After we have measured the size of the fabric for the roller blind at the joints of the glazing bead with the frame, it is still tedious to measure the size from the top loop to the beginning of the slope. If, for example, our size at the joints of the glazing beads is 50 cm, then in order for the dimensions of the roll to fit, we need another + 3.3 cm, that is, if we have a distance from the top loop to the slope of more than 53.3 cm, then the roll will fit without problems . If it is less than 53.3 cm, then we reduce the size of the roller blind, and we need to look at whether the fabric will overlap the glass. But this happens rarely, mostly everything is fine.

The next system is M32, designed for large windows, mounted on the opening or in the opening.

If you want to install a roller blind on a window opening, then you need the following dimensions:

opening width (from slope to slope) + at least 10 cm (to cover the opening with fabric 5 cm on each side),

opening height (from the slope to the window sill, or to the floor) +5 cm

If you want to install a roller blind in a window opening, then you need the following dimensions:

width - from slope to slope, in the place where the roller blind will be installed, height from slope to window sill or floor.

The width will be the overall size of the roll, i.e. size at the edges of the bracket, the fabric size in this case will be 35 mm

If you want to take measurements and install M 32 on windows large sizes, then follow the instructions as for Mini 19, only here is the overall size of the curtain smaller size fabrics at 35 mm.

Closed system of roller blinds (cassette system) Uni-glazing bead.

This system is not suitable for all types of glazing bead!!!

Suitable for rectangular beads (angle 90 degrees), or the bead has a slight bevel, and the depth of the bead must be at least 12 mm.

What does the glazing bead look like:

If your glazing bead has exactly this shape, then the Uni-beading system is suitable for you. If there are deviations from what is shown in the photo, for example, the bevel angle is large, or you have a 2-chamber (3 glass) double-glazed window, do not take risks, install a Uni-sash.

The dimensions needed for the correct manufacture of roller blinds are the same as in Mini 19.

The width from the junction of the bead with the frame, to the junction of the bead with the frame, the height is the same.

Closed system of roller blinds (cassette system) Uni-fold.

The system is designed for installation on the window sash and its blind part where there is a non-standard glazing bead.

What is a non-standard glazing bead? This is a rounded, figured glazing bead with a large bevel.

How to make an accurate measurement? If we have a rounded glazing bead, and we need to glue a guide, then we need to look for a flat surface, and it usually begins immediately after the rounded or shaped bead enters the frame.

We measure this distance, essentially it turns out from the joint of the bead with the frame, to the joint of the bead with the frame + 3 cm (1.5 cm on each side), this is the so-called overall dimension along the guides, which is also our width. Please note that the overall width of the cassette is 18 mm larger than the overall size along the guides.

In the picture X This is our width for calculations.

Another important point! On the handle side of the sash, as a rule, there is not this 15 mm flat surface, there is approximately 8-10 mm, this will be enough to glue the guide, that is, on one side we add 8 mm (or 10 mm) and on the other side 15 mm .

Now with height. What makes this system unique is that the height can be made the same on both the blind part and the sash.

Let's look at an example.

In this figure, we measure the height on the blind part of the window from the junction of the glazing bead with the frame to the junction of the glazing with the frame - this will be the overall height of our curtain. We make the same height on the sash. Then, during installation, we use a level to transfer the line of the upper junction of the glazing bead with the frame to the sash, in the figure it is indicated by a dotted line, this will be our upper attachment point for the roller blind.

Blinds are great solution for a modern interior: they will perfectly protect furniture and wallpaper from bright sun and rapid fading and will decorate any room. At making the right choice material and type, the blinds will successfully serve their owner for many years. The main thing for this is not to make mistakes when measuring.

You can measure a window to order blinds yourself, but this process requires precision and accuracy. For those who nevertheless decided to do such work without outside help, the answer to the question is: “?” is provided below.

What should you pay attention to first when measuring blinds?

  • A steel tape measure is required. Only this tool will help you get the most accurate result. Any other means will not work;
  • no rounding. Millimeter precision is the main factor in this process;
  • When ordering blinds, first write the width and then the length. This is a very common mistake, be careful;
  • any parameter must be measured in several places, because many windows do not have an ideal rectangular shape, and uneven slopes may prevent the blinds from lowering and rising freely.

If you do not take into account the huge variety of materials (plastic, wood, various fabrics), now the assortment of any store or company that provides blinds installation services offers its customers 3 types of goods:

  • horizontal;
  • vertical;
  • roll

You can also order security blinds, but you need to be extremely careful when measuring them, so it’s better to get professional help.

There is a separate technology for independent measurement of each type of blinds. About this and additional, more detailed information, read below.

Horizontal blinds

Horizontal blinds were the first to enter our market, and are still successfully coping with the competition. These blinds are very easy to use.

To take measurements, you must first decide on the installation method. If you plan that the blinds will cover the window and be mounted on the wall or ceiling, you need to measure them for installation “on the opening.” Installation of blinds that do not exceed the size of the window is called “in the opening,” and if they are mounted on a frame, this option is called “on the sash.” For the first and second methods, the control side is not important; it can be located either on the right or on the left.

This mount will visually enlarge the window. It will be successful design solution, because the parameters of blinds do not depend on the size of the window and can vary.

The first thing you need to do is measure the width and height of the window opening. For the most accurate and correct result, we take measurements in several places, and take the largest indicator as the answer.

The final data for ordering blinds should look like this:

  • width = opening width + 1cm (at least, more is possible);
  • height = opening height + 5cm (can also be increased).

Blinds installed in this way are perfect for large windows. This option takes up minimal space and is very practical.

For this type of installation, it is necessary to measure the width and height of the window opening and select the largest indicator (similar to the method of mounting “on the opening”). Next, subtract at least 1 cm from the obtained data (both height and width). It is better to subtract a little more from the width, because window slopes are often uneven, and the blinds may not fit properly, get stuck or cling to the wall.

This type of fastening is the most convenient to use, because when opening the window there is no need to roll it up, and the window sill is completely free for flowers, for example.

In this case, the measurement operations are slightly different. They are carried out as follows:

  • it is necessary to measure the width of the window sash in several places (along the boundaries of the glazing bead) and select the largest number obtained;
  • height is measured similarly;
  • final width: +1cm to the original size;
  • final height: +3cm.

The control mechanism must be located on the opposite side to the handle if the window is opening.

Such blinds add sophistication to the interior. Well-chosen material and color will become a real decoration for any room.

Vertical blinds can be mounted “in the opening” or “on the opening”. The choice depends on the shape of the window and design preferences. You also need to take into account that the window will look perfect if the width of the blinds is a multiple of 8cm (if they roll in one direction) or 16cm (if in two). Only in this case will all the slats cover the window evenly.

In order for the blinds to stand out as part of the interior or to cover the pipes and radiator, attaching the blinds “to the opening” is perfect. Installation “on the opening” will also hide the distortions of the window, but you need to take the window sill into account. If it protrudes more than 6cm, you should take care of an extended bracket.

To measure such blinds - they will be mounted on the ceiling or wall - we measure the width and height of the window. Then add at least 20cm to the first indicator (the blinds will protrude 10cm on each side). When installing on the ceiling, add the distance from the window to the ceiling to the height. If on the wall - at least +10 cm. We also add the required length of the blinds there.

If the room is small, there is little free space, and there is some furniture under the window, it is better to choose this method. But fastening blinds “into the opening” is only suitable for a more or less even window, without significant differences in size. This option will also be cheaper.

How to get the necessary data? The width will be equal to the width of the window opening minus 1 cm, and 2-3 cm should be subtracted from the height.

This type of blinds (also known as Roman blinds) is very practical. The main advantage is that roller blinds can be rolled up, and they will not take up any space in the room at all. You can also close the window to a certain level and generally darken the room.

Roman blinds can be installed “overlapping” on the wall and “in the window opening”. You can also now order the popular Day-Night system. When choosing any installation, it is better to add 0.5 cm to the measured height for the cornice.

Measuring roller blinds with an overlapping installation

First you need to measure the width and height of the window. Next, add the necessary centimeters to the obtained parameters. Add at least 10cm to the width, +20cm to the height.

Measuring roller blinds with installation “in the opening”

Measure the parameters required for this installation option roller blinds, very simple.

The required width of the cornice will be equal to the width of the window opening, and the height will be equal to the height of the window, respectively. But you need to remember that the window may be uneven. In this case, it is better to refuse installation “in the opening”.

Measuring roller blinds with the “Day-Night” setting

With such blinds, the lighting in the room can be independently adjusted, because the curtains consist of stripes.

We measure the width along the outer edge of the bead, and the height along the frame. This is ready-made data.
