Flowers from satin ribbon very attractive and sometimes look natural. Craftswomen are always interested in making something new and beautiful. That's how wonderful gladiolus turned out to be Anna Konnova from Balashov. On our website we have already introduced you to Anna’s works. You've seen her master classes on making, and with heart-shaped petals. And today we will present to you new master manufacturing class gladiolus.

To work you need to have on hand satin ribbon five centimeters wide, copper, thin wire, beads, glue gun, lighter, patterns for petals, scissors, dull knife. For the flower, you can take a ribbon of any color you like.

Make patterns for the petals from cardboard. There will be two patterns. One pattern for a small petal, its width is four centimeters and length seven centimeters. The second is for a large one, its width is five centimeters and its length is eight and a half centimeters. Make patterns of the same shape as in the photo.

For the small pattern we make one piece of ribbon, and for the large one we make five pieces. Using the pattern, cut out the petals.

Stretch the edges of the petals as you singe them with a lighter.

To make veins on the petals, take a dull knife.

Heat the knife over the gas and use it to make stripes on the back of the petals. First, check on a piece of tape to see if the knife is too hot.

Let's start making stamens for gladiolus. To do this you will need three pieces of thin wire ten centimeters long, one piece twelve centimeters long and microbeads. Glue microbeads to the ends of the wire. Twist the wire.

Glue a piece of tape to the place where your wire is twisted.

Glue a small petal to this place.

Glue the second petal so that it covers half of the first petal.

We also glue the third petal.

We also glue the remaining three petals.

Take green ribbon for the stem gladiolus. Cut at an angle to seal the edges. Put it on, lubricated with glue.

The remaining ends of the wire can be cut or bent.

I visited a wonderful exhibition of works by Margarita Zhantaeva. I invite everyone living in Yekaterinburg and who is not indifferent to the tapes to admire her works live. Library named after Herzen (Chapaeva, 5 next to Neiva Bank). The exhibition opened on March 15 and will continue for another week (at least). What completely shocked me was the miniature nature of the works. Looking at the photos on the Internet, I was sure that these were large-sized embroideries. But it turned out that the largest work is in A3 format, and the main part is embroidery in A4 format. These are such miniature stitches - just a delight!!! And how masterfully the background and the ribbons themselves are painted! I'm fascinated!

Agree, poppies are simply magical!

Embroidery size 28*43. These wonderful peonies are only 4 cm in diameter each, and how detailed they are embroidered!

The owl is something incredible!

Gladioli attracted attention for a long time, how the petals were drawn!

But this work is almost all embroidered with the thinnest ribbon; in the bottom right corner, flowers and greenery are embroidered with half-millimeter stitches! And at the same time, what believability. Both the hat and the umbrella are not drawn, they are three-dimensional, these are separate elements sewn to the base!

And these daisies extending beyond the frame are voluminous, they flutter in the wind!

And the water droplets look like real ones!

Hello dear needlewomen. Almost any flower can be made with your own hands using various materials. In this master class I will show you how to make a gladiolus branch from satin ribbons.

Gladioli from ribbons turn out to be quite large, and they can only be used or in separate bouquets.

So let's get started.

Making a Gladiolus Flower

To create a branch you will need three flowers, 2 half-opened buds and several small buds. The branch turns out to be quite voluminous, the average height is about 25 cm.

For the flower you will need a ribbon 5 cm wide and 2.5 cm for the sepals.

For a branch, three blossoming flowers and two half-buds will be enough.

Buds and sepals

Lately I've been using the simplest one, but effective way creating buds. He details. I'll just remind you here.

buds

Sepals

Cut 6 cm pieces from 2.5 cm tape, fold in half, front side outward, cut the corner so that there is a hole at the bottom, near the fold, and fuse the edges over the fire.

You should end up with an improvised kanzashi into which we will insert our flowers. For green buds you need one, for the rest of the preparations - two sepals.

Glue the buds into the sepals. And put one on the flowers and glue one of them.

Assembling a gladiolus branch from ribbons

When all the preparations are made, you can assemble the branch.

This is the gladiolus branch I made from satin ribbons. The stem length is about 40 cm, but this can be thought out in advance.
