Clay hair mask - reviews

Victoria, 25 years old

Inna, 35 years old

I regularly make clay-based masks. I tried all types of clay powder, I confess to you, I am pleased with the result. True, if I don’t wash off the mask well, my hair becomes hard to the touch for a while.

Conclusion

  1. Clay can be used on any hair type; it has no contraindications and does not cause irritation.
  2. The effect of use will be noticeable only with regular use of the product.

White clay is an environmentally friendly natural product widely used in cosmetology.

It is mined in China, Bulgaria and Ukraine. Clay of this type can be either pure white or grayish in color: this does not in any way affect its medicinal properties. For hair, white clay is used in shampoos, conditioners and masks. The latter are easy to perform and completely safe. The effect of use is noticeable after the first procedure!

Chemical composition

Another name for white clay is kaolin. Its color is completely determined by its composition, which includes:

  • silicon oxide in two modifications;
  • alumina;
  • zinc.

Also present in small quantities:

  • copper;
  • magnesium;
  • potassium.

The main active ingredient of kaolin is silicon dioxide, or silica. It is able to replenish silicon deficiency in the skin and hair. Silicon monoxide creates a slightly alkaline environment in clay ( pH=7-8). This allows you to destroy pathogens that can live and reproduce only in a slightly acidic environment.

Aluminum oxide is highly hygroscopic, which, in combination with silicon oxides, makes kaolin a powerful absorbent.

Useful properties

Bioenergetics experts believe that the unique healing properties of kaolin are due to the vibration wavelength, which is equal to eight meters. This corresponds to the vibration wavelength of a healthy human cell. During procedures using kaolin, sick and tired cells begin to “pull up” to the standard. For this reason, the effect of using the product becomes noticeable immediately. White clay also has the following beneficial properties:

  • neutralizes the harmful effects of free radicals;
  • absorbs toxins and waste from the scalp, thereby healing the hair follicles.
  • promotes hair regeneration along the entire length, stimulates its growth.
  • creates a natural protective film on the hair, giving it smoothness and healthy shine.
  • exhibits antiseptic and bactericidal properties.

White clay can also be used as an extremely gentle scalp scrub to remove dandruff.

It has been noticed that kaolin enhances the therapeutic effects of synthetic drugs. For this reason, after using masks with this product, it is recommended to use a variety of industrially produced balms and rinses.

Application of white clay

To treat and improve hair health at home, white clay is mainly used in the form of masks, although the cosmetology industry produces a huge number of different shampoos, balms, scrubs and rinses with this miraculous remedy.

Masks made from this clay suitable for any hair. Considering the strong absorbing and drying effect of kaolin, owners of dry split ends should definitely add cosmetic or essential oil to the mask.

You should not use clay that you have mined yourself. Pathogenic microbes and viruses can enter it from the soil. Also, when preparing masks from this clay, you cannot use metal objects.

Preparation

The procedure is carried out in three stages:

  1. take 15 g of dry white clay powder (for long hair you need to take a larger amount);
  2. pour a small amount of warm water (temperature - 40 degrees), grind. Additional components are added to the resulting mass and mixed thoroughly.
  3. Apply the mask first to the scalp, then distribute it along the entire length of the hair. The head is wrapped in cling film and a warm towel on top.

The duration of the session is half an hour.

Indications for use of kaolin

  • weakening and hair loss;
  • fragility and dull color;
  • dandruff;
  • slow growth.

White clay masks can also be used for seborrhea. Although they are not a complete remedy, they can remove or soften the unpleasant symptoms of this disease.

Hair masks

For dry and lifeless hair you need to add 10 ml of wheat germ oil and five drops of patchouli essential oil to the clay mass. You can wash off the mask with any suitable shampoo. In this case, you should not use balm and conditioner. This mask will make your hair shiny, elastic and manageable, it will gain volume and a healthy appearance.

After the first procedure, the painful itching will disappear, and a feeling of cleanliness and freshness will appear. You need to wash off the mask with shampoo, then you can rinse your hair with a decoction of oak bark or St. John's wort. When using the mask, dandruff will disappear after four sessions, the frequency is once every ten days.

You also need to wash off the mask with shampoo. There is no need to rinse your hair after washing. The recommended frequency of the procedure is once a week.

To strengthen weak hair, especially after a long illness, after diluting the clay with water, you can add raw chicken yolk. This mask should only be applied to the scalp. Rinse off with cool water and shampoo. After washing, it is recommended to use a suitable rinse aid.

For oily scalp and dry hair ends add 5 ml of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to the classic mask. Wash off with plenty of warm water and apply balm. This mask can be used once a week instead of shampoo for a long period of time. It normalizes sebum secretion and creates protection for dry hair, giving it shine, manageability and additional volume.

Very oily hair You can wash it once every five days with the following composition:

  • 10 g kaolin;
  • 5 g dry mustard;
  • 20 ml water.

After thorough mixing, the mixture must first be applied to the skin, gently massaging, and then distributed through the hair. Rinse off 10 minutes after the start of the procedure with plenty of warm water.

This recipe not only normalizes the functioning of the sebaceous glands and improves the appearance of hair, but also promotes the regeneration of hair follicles. Six months after starting use, your hair will become noticeably thicker.

Contraindications: what side effects may occur?

White clay has no serious contraindications for use. When using, be aware of its strong absorption capacity, which can lead to excessive dryness of the scalp. In this case, the mask should be enriched with cosmetic and essential oils.

When using additional ingredients for a mask with kaolin, be sure to test for an allergic reaction before the procedure.

For many centuries, white clay has been used in folk medicine. For example, in Ancient China, it was used to heal wounds and bruises, relieve joint pain, and protect against poisoning. In cosmetology, it was used to whiten teeth, maintain youthful and beautiful skin and hair.

But with the development of the cosmetic industry, this wonderful natural remedy was undeservedly forgotten, although many manufacturers continued to add it to soap, shampoos, shower gels, toothpastes, etc.

With the advent of fashion for everything natural and natural, white clay (or kaolin) has again become popular, and today it can be purchased in almost any pharmacy or large supermarket.

How is white clay useful for hair?

This product has wide application: it is used at home to prepare masks for the body, face and hair. It is considered a universal remedy because it allows you to solve a lot of problems with both hair and scalp.

Kaolin contains mineral salts, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, nitrogen, zinc and other trace elements, and has drying and cleansing properties. It contains no germs and neutralizes toxins. The uniqueness of white clay hair masks is that they are suitable for different hair types - dry, oily and combination. Even children can use them!

Kaolin masks get rid of dandruff, prevent excessive hair loss, accelerate hair growth, fight grease, moisturize, strengthen the structure, and restore shine, softness, silkiness and elasticity to curls.

How to use white clay?

To maximize the benefits of the mask, take into account some features of the preparation and use of white clay for hair:

  • To prepare the product at home, use only purchased packaged powder (you can purchase it at a pharmacy or hardware store). Many people mistakenly believe that kaolin can be dug up on their own, for example, in the forest or in the country. In fact, if you are not a specialist, it is very difficult to distinguish this natural material from another, because not all clay is white. In addition, it becomes a truly healing product after a complex technical processing process (cleansing from excess impurities and heavy metals);
  • Clay has no expiration date, but it no longer makes sense to reuse it;
  • to prepare the mixture, use ceramic, plastic or glass dishes (metal ones are not suitable for these purposes) and a wooden spoon;
  • The powder should be diluted in warm water (about 36-37° C). In cold water it may not dissolve, but in hot water it may even coagulate;
  • The powder should be diluted to a creamy consistency;
  • It is recommended to use only purified water (for example, taken from a source or filtered);
  • The product must be used immediately after preparation; preparations cannot be made for later, since kaolin soaked in water has the ability to absorb dust, dirt, and fat, which, naturally, will not bring any benefit to the scalp and curls;
  • the mask is applied only to freshly washed, damp, but not wet strands;
  • after applying the product to enhance the therapeutic effect, wrap your head in a plastic cap (or bag) and insulate it with a terry towel;
  • After the procedure, first rinse your hair under water, wash with mild shampoo, and then apply conditioner to it. Under no circumstances comb your curls when there is clay on them - this way you risk damaging them.

To eliminate a specific problem, medicinal masks should be used regularly, at least once a week. For prevention, it is enough to use them several times a month.
